NCC presents: 50s wallpaper nail art

Time for my third nail challenge collaborative post this month with the theme wallpaper. And as I said in my first post I decided to do a little "history lesson", doing my nail art's inspired by the wallpaper/interior designs of certain decades, going back in time. My last post was a 70's wallpaper nail art and next leap is into the 50s.

Well, obviously the 50s wasn't all yellow, I just happened to fall for that and I liked the pattern. The yellow kitchen is from 1959 and the wallpaper there is actually chickens. I also saw a blue kitchen in the same tone.

Basically I used the pattern from the wallpaper, yellow base, stripes and dots in white and gray, which looked kinda graphical and cool. The photos came out kinda weird (think it was dark when I took these) but overall I like this.

NCC presents: 70's wallpaper nail art

Time for another nail challenge collaborative, the second this month with the theme wallpaper. And as I said in my first post I decided to do a little "history lesson", doing my nail art's inspired by the wallpaper/interior designs of certain decades, going back in time. My previous post was early 21st century, with some sort of past present time and today I take a major leap into the 70s.

The 70s was a colorful period of time; wallpaper and interior design wise. A main color seem to have been bright orange as accent, often combined with yellow, red and brown as seen below. Quite often I've noticed avocado green details too (even seen a full kitchen in avocado green). My mom told me that her mom (my grandmother) painted their bathroom bright orange during the late 60s.

Onto my nail art. I struggled a bit with this one for no reason, had a bad nail art day and redid some nails 3-4 times and when I was done I accidentally dipped my undried nails when cleaning away my bottles.. Just to redo, again, lol. I went all in for the dots and my original plan was striped accent nails but that failed so at the end I decided to make swirls, using the needle dragging technique. The swirl technique I've done before in two colors (b&w), but this time I decided to use four colors and it became quite cool. I'm quite happy with the result but I think it could have looked way cooler and I'll probably try a 70s nail art more times. Hope you'll enjoy.

My dominant also got dots, really cool like that too I think. ^^

NCC presents: Dreamcatcher dotticure nail art in black/white/gray

Time for second post themed dots for the Nail Challenge Collaborative. I decided to make the dream catcher nails again, because there is so many dots to create this manicure. Last time I did it, I used bright orange as accent color to the black and white (LINK here), but this time (maybe inspired by the Swedish weather?) I choose gray. I tried catching these in natural light but it was quite dark so I'm not so happy with the photo quality but at least you can see them. =)

German dotticure

This was actually meant to be published yesterday but the time wasn't just enough..As you can see of the nail art I've used a creme white base and then I've dotted rows of black, red and yellow dots diagonally over my nails. First I was disappointed and thought that I should have done one row of each color to get them as many times instead of three here. And I'm not sure about the yellow color, maybe this one is too bright together with the white? However my boyfriend liked it and I decided to keep it. :)

And yes...today I'll finally tell you my good news I've been talking about in a previous post.. At the bottom of the post. ;)

..And then to the news (or actually there are two news) which as you might have suspected had something to do with the nail art, kinda.. ;) Me and my boyfriend are moving to Germany; Cologne. My bf has got a cool job offer/internship and I'm hoping that there are some possibilities there for me too. At least the possibilities there are better comparing to the small town we're living in here in Sweden. At this point we're not sure how long we're staying, it depends on how everything is going and how we feel. I'll of course continue to blog and I'm bringing a some of my polishes, but not all of them (that would be quite impossible, especially in the beginning). And I also have some news for the blog, I got this really cool cooperation with MoYou! So in a very soon future you'll see some stamping going on here. ;) I really like that because I've been really stoked about getting started with stamping (like more serious, today I feel very insecure about it; I have a lot to learn.) and also some of you readers have proposed that I should show more stamping, so win-win. :) xx

White dots over a white and blue gradient

Oh my, do you recognize this gradient? It was a plan behind it when I did it ;) And that was to do this; the disappearing dots. ;) I've done it one time before in yellow and white but my gradient wasn't enough white. This one isn't as perfect as it could be either when looking up close but irl it looks like it should. I really like this look, it looks so soft.. Hope you like it! :)

Marimekko inspired nail art

For this Nail Art Sunday Lela has chosen a fun theme for us to be inspired by; Marimekko. And if not all of you know about them, Marimekko is a finish design company with graphical patterns which can be found in fabrics such as curtains, pillowcases but also porcelain etc.

I googled and found a bunch of pillows which I liked and felt inspired by. The nail art I did ended up being more of a free interpretation rather than an exact copy. I've done dots on most nails and then I've done some needle dragging on some accents nails. I really like the color combo of black, white and yellow together and I like the end result. :)
