For purple I went with something simple. Just graphical dots going from the tip of my nails.

Dotticure gradient in metallic red and blue

Hi there, my blogging is going slow this month. Unexpected events has been doing its toll and sadly I haven't had time to focus much on any of the fun things I love doing. There is a lot of "have-to-do's" atm but I'm sneaking in here to let you know I'm alive and to show you some archive material. My nail status atm is horrible, they definitely need some TLC.

But, let's look at this mani, a simple dotticure (meant to be a dotticure gradient) in red and blue. A color combo I really enjoy. Hope you like it and want to keep follow me despite my low frequency posting I got now, still hoping it will get back to some normal pace soon. :)

Dotted gradient in blue

Day no.5 in the 31dnc is blue. I wanted to do something easy and made dots in different sizes so it formed a gradient. :) I really like the result and it's something I could consider wearing more times!

31DC2013 Day 2; Orange dotted gradient funky french

If you missed yesterday I've decided to participate in the 31 Day Challenge. Today it's orange and I decided to make a dotted gradient which would form a funky french kinda look. I used a sheer shimmer polish from Maybelline which I then covered up in dots, IRL the dots tricked my eyes and the VNL in the photos weren't noticeable at all.

Dotted gradient in red and blue

For the last day in the Vintage Challenge with the theme nail art with a vintage polish or polishes used during the week. For this I have a simple dotticure to show with Gabrini Elegant - 325 as a base. I dotted red metallic/shimmer in different sizes to form a gradient of the dots, from larger to smaller dots.

As I said this was the last day of the Vintage Challenge and I'd like to thanks to Little Miss Nail Polish and Polished Marvels! Hope everyone has enjoyed following the challenge this week. Next week I'll post regular posts and everything will get back to normal:)

Holographic dotted gradient

It's finally Friday and also Holo Friday at Skimmerskuggan.

Today I'm showing a holographic dotted gradient with my two favorite colors from Color Club's Halo Hues collection, the purple Eternal Beauty and the black Beyond. nomnom, I really liked this combination. :)

Dotted gradient in mint, teal blue and mint green

I showed you a swatch of Pistacchio yesterday and today I figured it would be nice to show the nail art I did with it. I had in mind to show the color compared to other colors, like a comparison in a nail art. I've also tried doing this concept before, that the dots disappears into the gradient but that time the result wasn't what I expected. I think the result was better this time.

The base is of cause Pistacchio and I've then made a gradient in teal blue and mint green alternating nails over the tip.

Afterwards I just made dots in the Pistacchio shade to make them blend in. And then SV on top to make everything blend in better.

I like how the different colors emphasize each other and how the color of Pistacchio is compared to teal blue and mint green. I think that Pistacchio is more to the green than to the blue, but just by little.

I also wanted to see how it would look like in matte (I figured that if I didn't like the matte look I could just put a shiny top coat on instead) but this is what happened. The polish cracked. I guess it could have something to do with that I first had the base color, the had made the gradient/nail art and then one coat of SV. When I figured it was dry I added Madly Matte from Kleancolor and matte polishes are fast drying too so I guess the combination of SV and Madly Matte made it look like this. Sad to do all this work and then being forced to remove the whole thing.

So, what did you think about the nail art? Have the matte issue happened to you some time too?

White dots over a yellow gradient

Today it's Sunday and that means Nail Art Sunday with Lela's predetermined themes. The theme for this Sunday was "dots".

This particular nail art I been wanting to try for some time and now I got the chance and opportunity. However I didn't manage to get as content as I visioned this, but I'll try it again and change what made my discontent.

 As you probably figured the dots are suppose to disappear in the gradient creating a cool effect. Mine aren't disappearing as much as I would have wished.

The gradient contains of two yellow nuances and white. I wished I would have photographed it when it was without the dots because it looked so great then. That I'll definitely do again.

 And why the color yellow? I love yellow nails.. :)

It took me some time, but then I realized it..this might be a bit eastern like..that was not my intention. But I do think that yellow isn't just for easter and red isn't just for Christmas etc. Even though the dots didn't help though.. ;)

Dotted gradient in silver on dark blue shimmer

Here I have what's suppose to be a dotted gradient. You know, when you start making the dot line with lots of polish on, making large dots and then keep dotting until you've got less polish on and the dotting tool makes small dots.

 The base color of this is a very dark blue shimmer which you can see better on the last picture with flash. And the dots are in silver. I really liked this look and want to do it again some time soon. :)
