Sailor water decal nail art with Nicole Diary

Today I have a fresh review to share with you! Nicole Diary contacted me recently and has let me try out some of their water decals. First out is this summery set of sailor inspired water decals called 39. :)

You can find the Nicole Diary shop below;
HERE on Aliexpress &
HERE on Amazon

And make sure to use my coupon code Ge2016 which will get you a free gift with your order worth $2-$5! Shipping is worldwide and you can follow them here on instagram.

The decals come in one paper with a set of 10, When looking at the pattern it is possible to see cut lines for the scissor to simplify the size you need. My nails are both wide and long and I had no problem fitting my nails to it. I cut out the pieces and removed the protective plastic (this is important, if you forget, the decal will glue itself to the plastic and end up useless) and let it become fully wet by the water. I used a small plate and had less then 0,5 cm of water in it, after I pick the pieces up with a tweezer and placed them on my fully dry pre-painted nails. Since these water decals are clear I decided to use white as a base. The decals are possible to rearrange some after placement and also possible to stretch a bit and even out the pattern on the nail (as my nails are curved I need to make sure the pattern sits flat allover). It was easy to remove the pieces outside on my cuticle with acetone and a q-tip. After the decals had dried I put on top coat. I've previously had problem with Seche Vite smudging my water decals but these didn't seem to have problem with this.. As an accent here I used some Essence stickers I got on sale when I lived in Germany.

Now picture spam, hope you'll like! :)

Right after placement, before cleanup.

Black and yellow Scottish plaid nail art skittelette

Hi, today I have a review with the Ladyqueen plaid water decal's. I received a sheet of paper which can be cut in any shape wanted, but if cutting according to my nails I could get 10 pieces, however I decided to make a skittelette nail art to make it more interesting. I painted my nails yellow to have a similar base as the water decals.

I first cut the rectangle shape of my nails and then rounded the edges to better fit my nails and to have less to remove. I used a little plate with water (the water height was like 5 mm), just enough to cover the paper. Important is to first remove the plastic before putting them in water, otherwise it might tattoo it self to the plastic..Then I used a tweezer to pick them up. The decal was easy to place since I could move them around and slide them into position. The water decals where quite sheer so it was really good I had a suiting base. After I let them dry from the water and later applied top coat. My pointer, which was my first finger looked great but when I applied tc to my others they smudge some, despite me being very careful. I will have to look into methods to avoid that in the future, advices are welcome. :)

Except for water decals I did black glitter gradients and also did 3 black texture nails. I felt it was unusual for me to make so contrasting nails to a manicure but somehow I liked it.

Now pics:

Polishes used (forgot to photograph the polishes)
Essence - Love Is In The Air
L.A. Girl - Uninhibited
P2 - Black Sand
Lady Queen Plaid Water decals with item ID: #NA0184 (more colors available)

Here you see the size of the paper and the color of polish I choose for my base. The paper was enough for 10 nails on the width. Length wise my nails could have been way longer.

Here you see how I cut them and you can also see them sliding off the paper. Here you can also somewhat see the sheerness of them, a neutral fresh base would be preferred. :)

Gold and teal nail art with metallic gold temporary tatto's

Hi everybody! Today I'm showing last color theme for @whencolourscollide, gold and teal and this is what I come up with. I did a teal gradient in two teal nuances and embellished this with some gold tattoos LadyQueen has given to me for review a while back.

I knew from the start that I wanted to combine the tattoos on both my nails and hands for a cool nail art look and it worked really good for both. I cut the tattoo in pieces and put it in a plate with enough water to cover them up, after 30-60 sec (when I saw that it was all wet) I used a tweezer to pick em' up. I will show my nails both with and without top coat here, with tc it wrinkled the gold slightly but not in a bad way and the durability has been great, 5 days (and now I just want change anyhow). On my hands/fingers the durability was as expected way less, as I've seen before on the hands it last for about a day, so it's more for special occasions on the hands. A good thing (which surprised me) is that it wears off in a nice way. It is NOT as the kids tattoos I used when I was a child which got dirty/blackish when they got old. The gold tattos first got slightly less gold colored, and got more of a silver tone and then just discretely started to wear off. I'm happy with this product and I'm already planning more looks with it, especially for summer with sightly more tanned hands. :)

Here you see the pieces I cut out and put in water. Also some comparison pics of without and with top coat on. Without tc it looks really smooth and with tc is looks slightly wrinkled but also way more metallic.

I used:

Vegetable nail art in green

Yep, you read the title correct, here's a first in my blog; vegetable nail art. I've used some Born Pretty Store water decals which as usual contain of 10 sets of nails with small motives. On the one I picked out there is tomatoes, chili, cabbage, cauliflower and pea shells as seen below. I wanted to create a green manicure so I decided to clip out the peas, cauliflowers and cabbages and the rest I'll make something fun of another day. ;)

First of all you can see my nails are shorter than before, I decided to cut them down since the constantly where breaking at the nail bed and I was fed up patching them with tea bags. It's not my favorite length but I know some of you like this length better and I'll just play with what I got until they are healthy and long again. :)

Onto the nail art. I started with a green creme polish on all my nails, then I added a white glitter green crelly polish on my thumbs, pointers and pinkies. I also decided to attach 2MM neon green square metal studs on top. And then I created a gradient from green to white on my middle and ring fingers, which are my accent nails. After everything was dry I placed my water decals (I've done a tutorial HERE) and then painted top coat on top. If you haven't tried water decals you should, they are really simple to use. This is also btw my contribution to Green Wednesday. :) I'm really happy with the result, the motive feels different and I also love anything green. ;)

Polishes and materials used:
Alanna Renee - Avada Kedavra
KIKO - 851
R de L Young - Coco Milk
Essence - Wild White Ways

Super natural water decals from Born Pretty Store, review

Now I've reached no 28 in the 31dnc which is "inspired by super natural" and at first I had no idea what to do. Then I came up with the best idea ever which was showing my water decals set from Born Pretty Store which happens to be a Halloween set with a whole bunch of super natural stuff. I've also included a tutorial of how I did this so you'll see how easy they are to wear. The Halloween set is just one example and there is more types of characters with water decals on their site. Remember that you can use my discount code NGL91 to get 10 % off.

The set I got is filled with lots of different motives. At first glance it seems like it's only 4 manicures (seems like ten nails of each theme)  but comparing the size to my nails (which is pretty wide I think) you see that this is way more. I used two "nails" for 5 of my nails and then I think I filled them a bit too much.
To the left: my pinkie. To the right: My thumb.

And below is my little pictorial/tutorial guide on how to do this. After it I'll give some small instructions if you find it necessary. Basically this is a very quick and simple technique to obtain advanced nail art.

 Instructions:
  1. Cut out the main motive with a (small) scissor.
  2. Peel off the protective plastic on top.
  3. Maybe cut in smaller pieces and then put in water. You just need them covered so a plate is enough. (Glass like here is not needed ;))
  4. Pick up the motive. The paper feels "oily" which makes the motive peel off easily.
  5. I used a tweezer to grab it even though it would be possible just to use the fingers.
  6. Then place it on the nail. It is super easy to move it around to place it exactly where you want.
  7. When I got it where I wanted I used my finger and pressed it down firmly.
  8. Then wait for a moment for the water to disappear or use a hair dryer. Then top coat it and you are ready to go.
Here you see a good thing, the water decals have a white background making the motive look very sharp even on darker colors since the polish color wont shine through.
And below is the result. I might think I put too many motives on each nail but it was really fun to try out. One advantage with this comparing to stickers is that the surface is 100% smooth with top coat so there's no risk for curling. They where also easy to remove. So my verdict is that I really liked this. It was surprisingly fast to do and the result is very nice even though I'll try to get some more all year around motives. For example I like the sailor themed ones on the same link as these.

And there you have it. The link to these water decals are HERE at the Born Pretty Store Website. The cost for the whole decal set is $3.99 and FREE world wide shipping. With the discount it's ($3,99x0,9=$3,591) which is ~25SEK, ~£2 and ~€2,5.
