German dotticure

This was actually meant to be published yesterday but the time wasn't just enough..As you can see of the nail art I've used a creme white base and then I've dotted rows of black, red and yellow dots diagonally over my nails. First I was disappointed and thought that I should have done one row of each color to get them as many times instead of three here. And I'm not sure about the yellow color, maybe this one is too bright together with the white? However my boyfriend liked it and I decided to keep it. :)

And yes...today I'll finally tell you my good news I've been talking about in a previous post.. At the bottom of the post. ;)

..And then to the news (or actually there are two news) which as you might have suspected had something to do with the nail art, kinda.. ;) Me and my boyfriend are moving to Germany; Cologne. My bf has got a cool job offer/internship and I'm hoping that there are some possibilities there for me too. At least the possibilities there are better comparing to the small town we're living in here in Sweden. At this point we're not sure how long we're staying, it depends on how everything is going and how we feel. I'll of course continue to blog and I'm bringing a some of my polishes, but not all of them (that would be quite impossible, especially in the beginning). And I also have some news for the blog, I got this really cool cooperation with MoYou! So in a very soon future you'll see some stamping going on here. ;) I really like that because I've been really stoked about getting started with stamping (like more serious, today I feel very insecure about it; I have a lot to learn.) and also some of you readers have proposed that I should show more stamping, so win-win. :) xx

17th of May Norwegian flag nail art

Happy 17th of May! It's the Norwegian constitution day and I have some old archive nails to show you. The photos are actually from 2011 but I've been occupied and forgot about posting them every year until now.

I think it's fun to see the difference of my nails from now and then. At 2011 my nails just barely had started to maintain length with out peeling and breaking and I had a much rounder shape of my nails than I have now. I can also see that my right hand had much more uneven length than the left one. I'd also like to claim that my photo skills have improved a lot. ;)

Another thing, I've noticed that my new job takes a lot of energy and time for me so blogging time has been very limited. Currently it feels like I wake up, work, eat and sleep and some nights I haven't even started my computer. I'm still hoping that I'll get things more routine based because I have at least hundred of posts in my archive waiting to be posted but until I get things figured out there will be less posts here and less comments in your blogs.

Jolly Roger nail art

Sorry for being so inactive in the blogsphere but I got a lot of things to do meanwhile this challenge is going on. Not many days left now though, and no. 28 is "inspired by a flag". I was not in the mood of making any regular flag so I decided to go with the pirate flag; Jolly Roger. It might have been better if I'd placed the whole sculls and bones-motive a bit higher on the nail, but still, it's in black and white and I liked the result anyhow. :)

South African tribal nail art

If I'm going to be done with the Where In The World-challenge this year I'll better hurry up and go to the next country on the list which is South Africa. Sadly almost the only african country in the whole list (we have Madagascar too), but it would have been fun with more African countries..think of all the wild animals, flags and cultural stuff that could have been a great inspiration to cool nail art. A country with a cool flag is South Africa, it's filled with nonetheless than 6 colors and the pattern is pretty graphical and cool. I decided to make the actual flag on two nails and then I did the pattern with a black fine liner because I figured that it looked graphical. I was in a bit of a hurry when I did this so I'm not content with the green nails but this is what it looked like. :)

Pastel houndstooth and union jack nail art

Hi! While I'm at it I'm showing no. 9 in the Where in the world-challenge which happen to be United Kingdom. This will also be my contribution to Nail Art Sunday at Lelack. :)

I actually had an idea from the start, I just love houndstooth pattern.. and guess what, my suspicion seemed correct since the pattern seems to originally come from UK (from a quick google session). I've free handed houndstooth pattern before (not showed here at the blog though) So I thought it would be fun to do it here as well, (since full nail stamping isn't my forte yet). On top of that I decided for some union jack flags as accents. First I was thinking of making the whole thing according to the flag; red, white and blue but then I thought that it would be funnier if everything went pale and pastel like, so I changed the red to pastel purple and the blue to pastel blue. I really like the result  and I hope you do too. I know I have some Anglophiles and english people reading my blog so I hope you'll find it fun! :D

31DC2013 Day 28; Swiss flag cross stitch nail art

Today it is inspired by a flag, which in my opinion is the least fun amongst the inspired by selection, since I'm doing the Where in the world-challenge I made sure that I'd pick a flag of a country not appearing in the list of that challenge. I also remembered that Natalia from Polished Polyglot thought it was sad that neither of her home country or living country was in the list so I figured that I would chose either one of them. I went for the flag of Switzerland and got inspired by the  white cross on red background and the decided to keep it simple but still fun with two accent nails with a cross stitch pattern. As you might remember I made cross stitch pattern for day no. 7 too and I think the result was better that time, I felt a bit shakier this time making the cross and thats never a good thing. I also realized that I must purchase more red polishes, apparently this is my only bright red(!) in my whole collection..

My different Union Jack flag nail art's

I figured that since I like the look of the flag of UK so much and since I've made three times before I figured that I'd show all three of them in the same post! :)

I actually can't decide which one I like the most since they're all so different and with different expressions. If you want to watch the full post, click each photo to get there. :)

One thing is for sure; I'll probably make more of these union jack nail art's in the future.. ;)

Gray union jack nail art

It's Sunday and Lelack's Nail Art Sunday and this time the theme was "Union Jack". I was really happy when I heard the theme, because it's one of my favorite themes on nails even though this is only my third attempt. I knew from the start that I wanted to make it gray, or more like gray, black and white because I think it look so cool. Also I've made a normal colored one before and one in gold as well.

 First out is the shiny version which I finished of yesterday with SV.

Shiny can be nice too, but then I decided I wanted to try it out matte as well.

I used HM Matte Top Coat on my left and I also tried Kleancolor - Madly matte on my right hand.

 I loved the matte version.

I highly recommend you not to use Madly Matte after you've used SV. For some reason it cracks everything up like a crackle if SV is applied before. This time SV was allowed to dry for about 10 hours so everything was definitely dry all way through. I had to fix my right hand to save it so sadly it didn't end up as smooth as my left hand. Now I know till next time, lesson learned.
