OPI - Samoan Sand, swatch

Hi, finally Friday and I still haven't settled in my routines vs work and blogging.. But I still wanted to show you something. OPI - Samoan Sand was bought at H2T for nothing (they have a bunch of OPI's for like 3-4$) and my plan was to use it as french base however it's tiny bit too brown and maybe not jelly enough for that. You know, it is a streaky tendency, like half jelly. This is three coats and even though it looks natural and fresh in the pictures it's sligtly more warm pinkish brown comparing to what I prefer. I could guess it would cover in 4-5 coats for my long nails but in the pictures I got 3 coats. What do you think?

Nude crackle and metallic pink to nude gradient

For this Saturday I decided to pick something from the archive. Some time I like recreating my manicures, but perhaps in other colors and this is one of those. I liked the original version much better, that one felt icy and cool but maybe you prefer this version?

Anyhow, a problem with this time was that I was too stressed out and didn't let the base gradient dry enough which made the crackle drag the underlying polish some. I also think that I let the pink gradient go too far over the nude. Anyhow, I'll try the other colors too as soon as I got time. :)

Feather nail art

For this Sunday I have my very first feather nail art to show. I hated the base color I chose (maybe you don't but pastel orange is not my favorite)..I chose it because I thought it looked good with the brownish color the feather had. No matter what I think I managed to apply the feathers pretty good except on my ring finger (which was my first try). I'll definitely try this more times, it was really simpler than I thought!

The last days I whore it I painted my nails with an effect glitter polish which tingled it up, but I preferred the "natural feather look" better.

And also, removal was easier than I thought. I thought that the feather would be like a large piece of glitter never going of but they're so thin and came off easily like the rest of the polish.

Nude jelly sandwich

Hi there! I'm still ill and my blog and also reading your blogs has been suffering. However, it's Sunday and I felt that it would almost be a sin not to post on Nail Art Sunday ;)

For today I have an archive nude jelly sandwich;

You might remember this manicure from THIS post and this is the same but with Sheer Pastel Cocoa on top as well. I really like how the glitter looks here, hidden but still visible. Subtle but still really cool. :) Jellies have become the new favorite finish for me!

Kleancolor - Sugar Coat, swatch and layering

Let's look at something neutral but still has some bling to it. This is two coats of Kleancolor - Sugar Coat layered over two coats of Kleancolor - Sheer Pastel Cocoa as a base.

Kleancolor - Sugar Coat is glitter in a clear base. The glitter is as you can see shifting in colors depending on the light. It's not a unique polish but a good budget alternative if you're looking for something like this. With Seche Vite, I experienced drying time to be normal.

Smitten Polish - Cookies & Cream, swatch

More Smitten Polish! :D This time in what in the bottle looked like a pale pink, but on the nails is more like beige or nude colored. The manufacturer of Smitten Polish, Noelie describes it as a "Pale peach/nude crelly" and that is a good description.

Same as Robin's Egg which I showed you guys yesterday this is filled with different sizes of matte black hexagon glitter, in this case three sizes. This one however does not have any shiny glitter like Robin's Egg had. Being a crelly it's sheer and I actually had 4 coats on. Maybe this one is a bit more sheer than Robin's Egg or I made too thin coats. There is some vnl but not in the way that it would bother me.

I really liked this polish, edgy but still very neutral. Now to the biggest surprise ever! It stained and discolored my nails heavy in pink! :-O And now you might think that it must be the polish I wore previously, but I had an accent nail with another polish on my other hand and that one didn't get stained at all. Weird, but I still like this polish, however the next time I'll use double coats of base coat. :)

Kleancolor- Sheer Pastel Cocoa, swatch

Today I'll show you a polish which feel like having naked nails, or nude naked nails at least. It's Sheer Pastel Cocoa from Kleancolor I'm showing.

 For this I used 2 coats, but I probably should have used one more for more opacity. However I would say it's a jelly so I was prepared for it to be sheer, as the name claimed.

 As you can see, the color is a beige towards red/pink. The first photo is the most color accurate to me and I don't think that the color is that attractive on it's own.

However, for nail art purposes it's awesome, I've used it in jelly sandwiches and in this awesome nail art:

Hi lovely readers!
It is Sunday and with that of cause Lelack's Nail Art Sunday!  Today the theme was free so I ended up experimenting and I really like the result! I wore this for some days ago and I loved it and will do it again with perhaps other colors. The title says it all, which is nude crackle over metallic blue to nude gradient. I often tend to dislike crackle manicures a lot even though I were them my self. It's like if I have a cool picture of how it will look and when I make it, it looks less good. Here however, the image matched the outcome and this is the crackle manicure I like the best of the ones I've made. :)

 I really loved the result, here with out top coat leaving the crackle polish matte and the base metallic and shiny.

As you can see I've used another color of nude under as a base and then sponged the metallic blue from the cuticles. And then I painted with the nude crackle all over the nail. I love how vibrant the metallic looks with this contrast of nude, like shown in the photo below.

When I see it I think of these large ice cubes in the north pole from documentary films. You know when the ice is crystal clear and ice blue with a hint of white crackles. Ah, I guess you know what I mean. :)

So, the photo just above and the two below is with top coat. I must say I preferred the ones with out top coat so the next time I'll make this I'll keep the crackle matte as it is and the base shiny.

Nails with a retro feel

Well, at least I get a retro feel by looking at this. :) The lines are made with a fine liner from Sure Promise and the nude base is from a really old HM Nail Polish called nude. So old that they had ball shaped bottles, to you remember them? For like 10 years ago when I didn't do so much nail art I bought many of those, especially in Nude and another one called Dawn, which was a light pink shimmer.

The budget nude swatch

Some how I think this swatches are boring when I do them. I don't like them more when I see how messy my cuticles looks and how shaky the picture looks. When I of some reason was was hoarding nude polishes I came across this one from needme PARIS Nail Polish at ebay for £0,99.

The number is 3 and I used 3 coats even though I think one could manage with two if you would use thicker layer. It have a pastel formula so at the first coat it look streaky. The color as you can see from the pictures are that kind of color that children have on their crayon for skin tones (you know that unrealistic skin tone no one have). It's not my favorite nude color wise but for the price which is like 11 SEK, I'm still content. And it is great as underwear for other polishes.

Flowers and dots nail art over nude polish

Some how I got hyped over nude nail polishes and i hoarded a bunch in the nude polish spectra, from the pinkish nude to the brown-beige nude. Afterwards maybe a few too many? Anyhow here I've a nail art made over nude. I made brown flowers and dots with a dotting tool and added neon pink dots to ad some "color". I actually liked this. :)
Noticed that pictures was taken in yellow light so the pictures/nails are yellow-toned, sorry for that.
