Day 22 in the 31 day challenge is inspired by a song and I decided to get inspired by The distillers - Drain The Blood. It's a punk rock band with the main singer being Brody Dalle. I tried finding some information about the "meaning" of the song and some suggested her breakup with the boyfriend, but it could also have other meanings, nonetheless I think that the nail art I created fit quite good. ;)
In a city, that swells with so much hate
You seem to rise above and take its place
The heart pumps until it dies
Drain the blood, the heart is wise
I freehanded my pointer and long finger and the rest is done with the straw method creating a splatter. And then some spike studs, which sat surprisingly good but I imagine they would go quite fast with some kind of serious activity, like breathing. ;) Super happy with these, hope you'll like them too!
Polishes used:
R de L Young - Dangerous
R de L Young - Ruby Red
Essence - Wild White Ways
Essence - Black Is Back

Fight Club nail art
No. 23 in the 31dnc is "inspired by a movie" and I decided to create a Fight Club nail art. I made it quite simple, with one black side and one white side symbolizing the two "sides" of the main character(s) and some red splatter symbolizing some blood as you might have guessed. ;) Enjoy!
Almost forgot, at nail art sunday there is more nail art. :)
Polishes used:
Nordic Cap - NP12
Nordic Cap - NP13
Kleancolor - Blood
Jordana Pop Art - Black Mark
Jordana Pop Art - Contemporary White
And let's finish up this post with a movie quote:

Black and white skittelette
Nail Art Sunday at Lelack and today's theme is "skittelette". When I first heard about the "new thing" (a couple of months ago) and learned what it was I was a bit surprised, because it was something old but just with a new fancy name, the old accent nail(s) was re-vamped. But with that said, I love manicures with accent nails and skittelettes has become a trend which means many people does it, which means that I have an easier access to nail art I like. I don't like all skittelettes out there though, a few are too incohesive. With that in mind I decided to color match my skittelette to make it super-cohesive. I think I'm quite happy with the result, it's black and white, and that always work even though I still wonder if it wouldn't have been better with black creme nails.
The rules of a skittelette apparently are to have two accent nails with some sort of decoration/design, one glitter or texture nail and two creme polished nails in any order even if the above seems to be the most common skittelette order.
Polishes used:
HM -
Nordic Cap - NP12
Nordic Cap - NP13
W7 - Salt N' Pepper
diamond shaped metal stud rhinestones
What do you think about skittelettes? Are there any you don't like? Have you tried it? Did you like my black and white version? Looking forward to hear from you. ;)

31DC2013 Day 27; Jackson Pollock inspired splatter nail art
This was the only part of this challenge I had an idea on what to do before I entered this challenge; the prompt is inspired by artwork. And as I said I knew what I wanted to do and that was Jackson Pollock (even though he's not my favorite artist), mainly because I've been wanting to try the splatter technique which is using a straw to create a random splatter pattern by blowing polish onto the nails. It was actually less messy and easier than I thought. I chose one of his paintings and fell for one called Autumn Rhythm because of it's color scheme where the base is beige kinda looking and the the splatter is in white and black. Here you go;
Polishes used:
Kleancolor - Sheer Pastel Cocoa
Nordic Cap - NP13 (white)
Nordic Cap - NP12 (black)
Have you tried this technique? Do you like it or is it too messy for your taste?
