Vegetable nail art in green

Yep, you read the title correct, here's a first in my blog; vegetable nail art. I've used some Born Pretty Store water decals which as usual contain of 10 sets of nails with small motives. On the one I picked out there is tomatoes, chili, cabbage, cauliflower and pea shells as seen below. I wanted to create a green manicure so I decided to clip out the peas, cauliflowers and cabbages and the rest I'll make something fun of another day. ;)

First of all you can see my nails are shorter than before, I decided to cut them down since the constantly where breaking at the nail bed and I was fed up patching them with tea bags. It's not my favorite length but I know some of you like this length better and I'll just play with what I got until they are healthy and long again. :)

Onto the nail art. I started with a green creme polish on all my nails, then I added a white glitter green crelly polish on my thumbs, pointers and pinkies. I also decided to attach 2MM neon green square metal studs on top. And then I created a gradient from green to white on my middle and ring fingers, which are my accent nails. After everything was dry I placed my water decals (I've done a tutorial HERE) and then painted top coat on top. If you haven't tried water decals you should, they are really simple to use. This is also btw my contribution to Green Wednesday. :) I'm really happy with the result, the motive feels different and I also love anything green. ;)

White and green snowflake stamping nail art

Today I have another stamping nail art. You might recognize the base here, I've showed that one before, a green creme and then matte glitter in green, white and black layered on top. Then white snowflakes randomly placed. I see this nail art as some sort of spring nail art, green tendencies but still snow. In north of Sweden, where I come from, the green tendencies will take another 2-3 months I guess. But here in Germany I highly suspect that the spring will come sooner. Today was 15 degree Celsius plus, even though that is suppose to be unusual here. Anyhow, if you like more green manis', head over to Green Wednesday.

Green holo galaxy nails

Today it is galaxies in the 31dnc.. I must say I'm not so excited about them as other people seem to be, at least not on my own nails. Last galaxy theme I did a graphical version but this time I decided to make a "real one", but in green (in favor for Green Wednesday) but I must say that the result looks like a children's play.. Hope you like them more than I did.. haha :D

Striped tribal nail art in green and white

For day 12 in the 31dnc I started with a green base (since it's Green Wednesday) and then I started making stripes with my fine liner polish, at random. After a while I realized that it started to look a bit tribal. But I don't mind, I liked the look and I'll just make something different for day 16, which is the actual day for tribal. At least it's striped enough for today I think! ;)

Glass-flecked Hello Kitty nail polish, swatch

For this Green Wednesday I have an effect polish which look green on a black background and looks more greenish gray in the bottle. So let's get to it, shall we?

This is a green glass-fleck effect polish which I've bought from one of the members in a nail polish facebook group I'm in. That woman bought this in Thailand and that's all I know about it. It has no name and no number but because of the bottle I call it Hello Kitty nail polish. Since it's an effect polish it's too sheer to have on it's own (I tried) and I would suspect that the base is clear but it's very filled with large irregular shimmer pieces =glass-flecks. For fun I pained my nails with a black creme and a white creme on an accent. I liked it the best on black though, on white it mostly looked a bit dirty even though it did look greenish dirty. Pictures shows 2 coats and picture no 2 shows the polish and color the best. It was also fast drying which always is a plus. I really liked this, I don't have a polish like this in my stash before so it was welcome! Do you like it?

What do you think about this polish? Do you know any other brand which have a glass-flecked polish in a clear base made to be used as an effect polish?

White glitter gradient on green base

The pink week is over by now but Karin at Vacker&underbar brought some attention to the fact that October also means Depression Awareness Month which has the color green , which made her to decide to have a green week, hence United in Green. This is not the same thing as cancer where we can buy pins and donate money but I still think it's important to bring attention to it.

It's like a hidden disease filled with prejudices, one depression isn't similar to another, and they maybe don't need the same treatment. And there's one thing feeling blue, another to feel depressed due to a fail or loss and then there's clinical depression etc. And some people say that one should just cheer up but sometime it's not as simple as that, sometime it's about needing support from friends and family, someone that listen, and some time it's the opposite; to talk with someone outside the family and in some cases medicating.

With this post I'd like to point out that if you know someone that you know that is feeling down or depressed, give them a hug and/or some love. If you feel depressed, do something that makes you happy or in some situations the best thing is to search for help.. I know some people who have found joy in polish collecting and polish painting, it has become some sort of healing. How quirky it ever may be, what ever makes you happy is good.

This manicure made me happy when I wore it at least. I wore it during this summer and well, green is a great color. I'm also really found of these reversed glitter gradients. Hope you like it.

Kiwi nail art funky french

Sunday and Lelack's Nail Art Sunday with the theme "fruits". I decided early that I wanted to do kiwi's even though I've read that they technically are berries. I also decided that I didn't want to use fimos since it feels like i I use them all the time.

So here it is:

I'm not that content with this, the green "lines" doesn't show so much. I think they look cooler IRL because then I see the lines and the white isn't only white, I've mixed some light green in it too. I've got a new kiwi idea that I'll show another day that I liked way more. :)

 But yea, I like that it's super shiny and things could have been worse. :)
