Pretty & Polished - Boy Bleu, swatch and layering

I've showed Boy Bleu several times before but not over pink before. The pictures are from early 2013 (lol emptying the archive again) but I've worn it layered over white, over brown and over red. My favorite combo is not over pink anyhow, brown and red are so far the favorites. Anyhow, this is my contribution to Blue Monday.

So I've talked about Boy Bleu before. It's black and bright blue hex glitter in 2 sizes and also tiny glitter in both colors, and some very occasional large semi matte white hexagons in a clear base. Those large white hexagons are so rare that they are unnecessary in my perspective.

Paris memories - #293, swatch

What is your opinion about yellow shimmers? Like it or not, here I have some photos from last year with Paris memories - #293 (which actually is one of my moms polishes). I think this could have had high potential, being almost "honey colored" but the 4-5 coats makes me a bit negative towards it. However, considering the price it's not too bad even though I prefer creme yellows over shimmers.

Prismatic glitter gradient over black

Hi! I've been gone for quite some time now, there has been work, personal life and just a lot of things going on, both negative and positive ones. Some fun nail polish related things is that I've been to Canada and I've done some fun polish shopping there and I've also done an awesome nail polish swap with my favorite Russian girl. :)

Today however I'll start with something simple from my archive. A prismatic glitter gradient over a black creme. The first photos are just regular small hex glitter and in the last one I actually added prismatic string glitter too. Hope you like it. :)

Holo glitter gradient on pink

The title is fooling you a bit, it's not a "real holo", it's really prismatic or holographic glitter. I really wanted to join Holo Friday and I've wanted to change my manicure to a holo from Catherine Arley, because I got some pink holos from that brand untried, but to capture the "holoness" I definitely need sunlight and it's been cloudy for some days and yesterday it even started snowing(!) I'll post more today, and if were lucky there's going to be something more for United in Pink, otherwise this will do.

The base here is the lovely cerise (almost-glowing) neon Love's A Beach and then I've used two prismatic glitters in different sizes and colors. The first one is from Paris Memories, it has a number name which has disappeared from the bottle and the second glitter is Kleancolor - Holo Chrome. Holo Chrome is not that chrome and not even scattered holo, but glitter holo we could call it. This is that kind of nail art that you definitely would be noticed in, it's glitter packed and is crazy bright in the sun. :)

31DC2013 Day 3; Yellow to gold gradient

For day three in this challenge, it's "yellow nails". And I'm still at my parents house and my mom only got one yellow.. That particular yellow I'll show later in an own swatch post, however it reminds me a lot about Kubiss no. 62 which also is a yellow shimmer. That time NefariouslyNiftyNails commented that it almost looked like gold and from that the idea of a yellow and gold gradient came. And for today, being yellow and all that, I figured it would be awesome to try it.

I think it came out well even though it was hard to capture the actual gold, it looks more brown but at least it was gold IRL, ancient gold like color to be accurate. I also have some bonus pics in the end with flowers! :D

Feather nail art

For this Sunday I have my very first feather nail art to show. I hated the base color I chose (maybe you don't but pastel orange is not my favorite)..I chose it because I thought it looked good with the brownish color the feather had. No matter what I think I managed to apply the feathers pretty good except on my ring finger (which was my first try). I'll definitely try this more times, it was really simpler than I thought!

The last days I whore it I painted my nails with an effect glitter polish which tingled it up, but I preferred the "natural feather look" better.

And also, removal was easier than I thought. I thought that the feather would be like a large piece of glitter never going of but they're so thin and came off easily like the rest of the polish.

Red and black flower nail art

Today I'm showing a nail art I did a couple of weeks ago when I was participating in the Vintage Challenge. Then I showed just the base which is a polish from Paris Memories which you can see >HERE<.

After wearing it for a while I realized I wanted to try a nail art with it. I wanted red to be the dominant color so I picked a darker red to be the petals and outlined them in black. In the photos the color difference between my reds didn't seem so significant however IRL they where. Actually the last photo with the two bottles shows everything the best, both manicure and colors. :)

Jewelry Red looks very much like Kleancolor's own Metallic Red. Someday when I got time I'll make a comparison between them because they seems to be the same polish with two different names..

Hi, sorry for the late post but I had to get up in the middle of the night to be able to catch the train to my parents. I've been chillin' for awhile since I got here but of cause I haven't forgotten about the Vintage Week Challenge hosted by Little Miss Nail Polish and Polished Marvels. You can check out either of their blogs for more info.

Today's theme is red, which isn't a color I'm wearing too often but for this special occasion I picked one of (my few) reds. ;)

The polish I've chosen is from Paris Memories which is a budget brand I've bought in a small store when living in the south of Sweden. Now it's about 5-6 years since I bought this. I've got many polishes from this brand and I like the polish it self, but I totally hate the brush.. It's so tiny, close to a fine liner brush which make application very hard when I for each nail must re-fill polish on the brush several times!

Anyhow, #243 is a red shimmer polish filled with gold shimmer as you can see most clear on the bottle pic right below. I really like polishes like this, having another color of the shimmer because it really gives a depth to the polish.

I've used three coats for this and SV on top as always.

I actually really liked this and I'm content with my photos and I think I should reconsider and start wearing more red on my nails. :D

Pink funky french with green glitter

Today it's Thursday and I've picked something pink from the archive to match Princessemmas Pink Thursday. I'm getting a bit fed up with my archive though, I think my nails are more beautiful now and I also take better photos of my nails now. But the thing getting me feel most fed up is not having a job, but I'll try make something positive about it and get things done at home and just keep on searching.

For this manicue I've basically made a pink funky french and then painted clear polish to glue my green loose glitter on. 

I wish you could see how beautiful the loose glitter actually is, one my thumb above you'll get a hint of the color spectra.

And look how cleverly I matched my nails with my earring ;)

Sloping funky french with zebra stripes

Today I'm showing zebra stripes again. It's the print I'm always making when I'm out of fantasy, this will be zebra nail combination nr. 15, apparently according to my labels. These nails are archive nails, must empty my archive but I have so much new funnier things that I want to show too. ;) Any how, this time I've used a black base and white stripes instead of my regular white base and black stripes. I quite like the result.

Blue nails with burgundy dots and yellow glitter

For this Monday I have a blue nail art. It's archive as you can't see of the length of my nails, or at least the lack of length. ;)

Well, there's not so much to say about this more than I used a dotting tool for the dots and Sure Promise fine liner brush for the thin gold glitter tip.

This is not my favorite nail art but I can't only show my favorites, right?! :)

Red sloping funky french

Hi!
For this Monday I have another archive nail art for you. So sorry in advance for the mess around the manicure. But if we focus at the actual nail art I've used a sheer white, shimmer jelly from Paris Memories and then added the red funky french with three red polishes from Sure Promise.

 Not my best nail art but I do like red smileys :) Classic but still edgy.
