Collection 2000 - 277, swatch

Today me and my boyfriend have been walking around in the center of town for like 5 hours; taking pictures, walking through shopping streets and galleries, we didn't end up buying anything but it was still nice. By now I've spotted were a quite big KIKO store is located, so one of those day I'll check it out. I've also seen Essence for 1,5 euro in a large food store nearby, called Kaufland. There are also random smaller beauty shops which I'll pay a visit some day.

But now, let's look at some nail polish, shall we? Collection 2000 is a budget brand and the colors I've seen are common but still nice considering the price, the brushes are sadly a bit like a hard broom though. 277 is a purple with some gray undertones in it. It needed 3 coats to cover, it felt thin almost like a crelly even though it is a creme and is very shiny on its own.

Inverted glitter gradient in purple

I just recently bought L.A. Girl - Sputter and felt that I wanted to incorporate it the purple theme day in the 31DNC. To match it up I chose Collection 2000 - 277 which is a gray toned creme (slightly lighter in color than the photos show). I had some problems before I got the glitter from Sputter to really look like a gradient but after a while I think it looked kinda cool. What do you think? Do you got any proposals of what base color I should use for Sputter the next time?

B&W glitter gradient on pink base

Hi! Nail art with pink is best combined with black and/or white, at least in my opinion ;) An easy way to add something extra to a manicure is to add glitter and I love the matte black and white glitter trend going on. As a base I've used Collection 2000 - 184 and then I've used Ninja Polish - Sticks n' Stones as a gradient starting from the cuticles. For some odd reason I haven't taken that many photos nor photographed the bottles, but sometime two is enough, right? ;) I like this, the pale pink is feminine and the glitter feels edgy.

Collection 2000 - 184, swatch

It's going to get seriously pink next week when United In Pink starts, but I wanted to start a bit earlier since it seems like I have more pink polishes than I thought. Since I like being prepared I started with pink polishes and pink nail art right after the 31DC and well I have a bunch to show now.

This polish is from Collection 2000 and is called 184. It's much of a budget brand and I bought it and a bunch of other polishes at ebay for a dollar or less each. 184 is super sheer and could work as a base for french manicures and on the pictures I have 5 coats. The color is light pink, (pastel?) almost bubble gum colored and the finish is shimmer. I actually liked it even though it feels very girly and feminine, I didn't keep it like this for long and you'll see later what I did to spice things up.

And yea, have you noticed the length of my nails? I cut them down right after the challenge because I had a glued broken nail on my dominant nail and I wanted to cut it down so I'd only would have "healthy" nails left. It also feels fresh to sometime (especially pre winter) cut all nails down even though it feels short it's better than breaking them to nubs during the winter. I also dig the the straight shape on them, I must get a proper nail file so I can keep them more like that even if they get longer. And also, today it's Pink Thursday where more ladies will publish pink today.

Hoopoe bird nail art for Israel

Today I'm continuing with my "Where in the world-challenge". I haven't had the time for quite some time to do this challenge but I feel inspired and hope I'll finish it during this summer. :)

And as you've seen, it's no. 4 today, which is to make a nail art inspired by Israel.

As before I've searched information about the country and tried finding something inspiring. Honestly Israel was very hard, there's conflicts, war and other less fun things which isn't so inspiring.. However at the end I only had two option, the Hoopoe bird or the Cyclamen (flower).

At the end I choose to go with the Hoopoe bird which is the national bird of Israel. I didn't make it literally but choose to make it abstract as you'll see below.

 I first made a orange base which I sponged to a color of my liking. After that I sponged/painted a white gradient and used striping tape after it had dried. And then I sponged it black and pulled of the striping tape of and then dots and black rhinestones.

Holographic water marble

Hi! It's Lelack's Nail Art Sunday! If you're in to nail art you'd better drop over there later tonight and check out the link list of todays nail art. The theme this week was free so I'm showing a water marble.

I intended it to look very different from this but I really liked the result anyhow. It felt very metallic and occasionally holographic.

And as you might have guessed, my intention was that the black was suppose to be creme and the holo just holo silver.

 I'll make a new try of this soon. :)

Mosaic funky french

 Hello girls! It's a wonderful Saturday and I'm off north in Sweden visiting my parents. So not to let the blog die during the week-end when I want to socialize, I've scheduled my posts.

This is a polish I really like, its from W7 Nail Polish, a brittish budget brand I really like and really recommend. This is part of a collection of three containing Mosaic (this one) and Salt n Pepper and Lava flow which I'll show you tomorrow! It's not a new collection but I'd like to show it any how.

To make this manicure funnier I decided to make it pointy looking, like if I'd used tape (which I haven't)

As you can see in the close up; the base is bright blue and is filled with dark blue glitter (which appears matte but isn't) and glittery light green glitter.

What you can also see in the above picture is that the finish (like on the other two) is milky, or half jelly. The third and final coat doesn't cover the under laying glitter creating an almost jelly sandwich effect which I really like.

 This polish is actually not my favorite of the three, not because it's ugly, but because I find the other so super awesome!

 Something I regret making this manicure is the choice of base polish, it's too opaque I think. And I'm not sure I like this kind of way making funky frenches. And yes, a down side as to all glitter polishes is that it take some time removing.

Breast Cancer Nail Art - Think Pink!

Today it's Tuesday and I have actually one more breast cancer awareness inspired nail art to show, here's a link to the other one if you haven't seen it yet. I guess I got inspired by the other one, and made it less in the face, and with a more subtle look, both including nail art and accent nails.

Some how I think I like this one more than the other one, just because it of the subtleness. :)

What you see is two thin coats of Collection 2000 - 246, which literally dried in seconds! I guess the finish would go for foil and I think that the color isn't totally correct, I experiences it being more pink than the pictures show. This is truly a budget brand and some of them are a bit too sheer for my taste but this one is the best I've tried so far finish wise. (Bought mine from ebay for about $2/13SEK)

And as before the text was made with the two-way nail polish from Sure Promise in the color black.

Poisonous dart frog meets giraffe inspired nail art

hihi, I love the title; poisonous dart frog meets giraffe inspired nail art, that's pretty much how I interpret this nail art design. :D

The actual occasion for this is because of nail art Sunday with predetermined themes, and this time the theme was "zoo". My first thought when I read that was to make a zebra/tiger nail art and/or a leopard nail art, but honestly I make them all the time and I wanted to challenge my self. I've seen several giraffe nail arts and I've really liked them but never tried them on my self. I've also been meaning to try making a vertical gradient which I also never have tried before. This above in combination with some makeups shortylegsbeauty have done inspired by poison dart frogs; an idea developed and well, pretty much resulted in this:

 I really like that I got the colors correct in the photos so that you can really see what I see (almost).

I really hope you liked it because I sure did! And it took like forever making all the random spots which I also afterwards think was worth it ;)

Kleancolor holo gradient in pink, blue and green

I really enjoyed having this on my nails. I really like gradients and this one feels extra summery fresh. And there will be a cascade of pictures... :)

As the last post showed I used Collection 2000 - 184 as a pink base. After that I sponged Gabrini Elegant - 324 in the middle and afterwards I sponged HM's nailpolish -Green street at the very tip.

And here's the holo to the design. Kleancolor - Holo pink, Kleancolor - Holo Blue and Kleancolor- Holo green. Since the base of these colors are so clear I didn't sponge the glitter, I just brushed the holo on each color block.

And last up a blurry picture to actually manage to catch some rainbow at the picture.
I really liked this one :)
