NCC presents; recreating member designs; Blacken Roses inspired by The Polish Playground

So, because of my computer "problems", the "tea issue", I'm behind on the Nail Challenge Collaborative.. This month it's Recreating member designs in honor of our 3rd Anniversary. I haven't been around for 3 years in the group but scrolling through the different folders with themes have been fun. Since I have a weak spot for  black and white I decided for a mani from the B&W folder for my #1. I decided on a look created by The Polish Playground which she calls Blacken Roses.

Mine is not a dead on exact copy, first of all I don't have a rose pattern to stamp, and I created a bow of my own with rhinestones. However, I think it's clear from what I got inspired by! I made a white base, then freehanded black roses and created a bow with rhinestones and silver metallic beads. I just LOVED wearing this! :D

Polishes used (forgot to take pics, sorry ;))
Essence - Wild White Ways

R de L Young - Black (fine liner polish)

Oriental romantic nail art

This is the actual nail art I did for Valentine's day this year. I wanted something with romantic symbols like hearts and roses but some cool colors. After some thinking I ended up with a bright gradient in orange, pink and purple, combined with matte pink glitter, freehanded roses in black, metal stud rhinestones (painted) in black and metal studs rhinestones. I also did like a high french with bows on my thumbs. I really liked this nail art and also submitted it to a nail art contest, which is the main reason why I haven't posted it before. (Out of ~30 submissions I ended up somewhere in the middle). Hope you'll like it.

And below are some photos with flash to show off the colors slightly more than those abow.

Essence - I Feel Gritty, swatch + nail art

I like texture polishes so of course I had to buy the texture top coat from Essence called I feel gritty. The finish isn't that gritty or textured when touching it, it's like if one coat of tc could fix it. As for all of the texture top coats I've seen it has "glittery stuff" combined with the "texture stuff". Here I've applied 1 coat over my new years eve nail art, which is a black creme + decoration. I've also tried it over other colors and finishes and the conclusion is that the texture top coat always gray the base down heavily. Also the nail art decoration gets hidden quite much, something to think about in future nail art's. (Which reminds me that it's Sunday, and therefore Nail Art Sunday today, omg the days are a mess right now).

I can imagine this is awesome for any person who loves the glittery textures, but me preferring the creme textures the most, this is just okay and doesn't make me go up and down jumping of joy. What do you think?

New years eve nail art goes matte

Some days late perhaps but I also have a matte version of my new years eve nail art. I think I actually preferred the shiny version but of course I'll show you this anyhow.

New years eve nail art

We have now reached the last of the themes in the Winter Nail Art Challenge which appropriately is New Years Eve. My nail art for today is very simple, a black base and silver metal beads placed with the help of a dotting tool. It's actually simpler than one can think to place them in intricate patterns like numbers etc. Try it! And now you wonder, will this be my actual new years nail art? But the answer is no, I have other plans.. ;)

Polish and materials used:
ZTIZ (black creme)
metal beads, silver

A summary of the winter nail art challenge will come later, but for now I'd like to thank Helena at Lacky Corner for being a great host for this challenge. :)

Nail art in black and green

Today I have a simple nail art to show you. A green base on all nails, black glitter gradients and a heart accent nail and a metal bead accent nail. All in all this is my last contribution to the United in Green theme week and a big thank you to Karin at Vacker&Underbar for hosting. This Nail Art Sunday is also in cooperation with United in Green but also has a theme; namely love. As you see my symbole of love is quite subtle here (with three hearts) but I really liked it this way, hope you do too. <3

Polishes and materials used:
China Glaze - Def Defying
L.A. Girl - Uninhibited
Green metal beads - (and omg, they didn't bleed this time?!)

Abstract autumn nail art with metal beads

Nail Art Sunday and the theme is "autumn". I decided to go super abstract and display the colors of autumn with metal beads (or what some people calls caviar beads for caviar manicures). I painted my nails white (to make the colors pop), and made a thin black line and then placed the metal beads color wise, and changed the order of colors on my non dominant hand. I haven't decided if the nail art is different leafs or different trees, ranging from green-yellow-orange-red-brown. No matter what, I like the result. :)

The metal beads are really bleeding colors even though I've made my best trying to avoid it by painting tc on the beads separately. The pictures above are actually taken with my new camera and I'm happy with the result. I did the manicure at Friday so this is the third day and below are some photos taken with my phone today (in bad light sadly), but I really wanted to show both hands in the same picture.
