Gradient with B&W glitter

There is no theme for Nail Art Sunday this Sunday so I'll show you something from the archive. Last year I joined an Christmas Challenge where I did Christmas Elf nail art and I really liked the base colors so I recreated it. Amazingly the red Claudia and the green polish mix so good when I made them into a gradient that they create a third color, here purple. Love when that happens! Here I also decided to add black and white glitter on top, only wish I remember which one of all my b&w glitters..

Polishes used:
Claudia - 607
unknown heart shaped bottle (swatch here)

black and white glitter (can't remember which one and can't check since I'm in Germany, sorry for that)

B&W glitter gradient on pink base

Hi! Nail art with pink is best combined with black and/or white, at least in my opinion ;) An easy way to add something extra to a manicure is to add glitter and I love the matte black and white glitter trend going on. As a base I've used Collection 2000 - 184 and then I've used Ninja Polish - Sticks n' Stones as a gradient starting from the cuticles. For some odd reason I haven't taken that many photos nor photographed the bottles, but sometime two is enough, right? ;) I like this, the pale pink is feminine and the glitter feels edgy.

Colorblind^2 in a gray and blue gradient

Hi folks! I'm finally back and school is over, almost at least. Everything went fine with my school project and I feel so content! :D

Now let's check out some nail art! This is something I wore for some weeks ago.

It's basically a gradient in blue and gray and I really liked the outcome. Gray is such a cool combination with bright colors like this in my opinion.
On top you see small matte black and matte white square glitters in a clear base called Colorblind^2 from Dandy Nails. If your memory is more than fine you might remember I've shown another Colorblind from Dandy Nails, namely the Colorblind without the "^2" with larger black and white glitter. If not you can check it out >HERE<.
Sorry for the out of focus shot on the bottles but that one was the best I got.

HM Nail Polish - Miss Stone Heart

Dandy Nails - Colorblind^2

And now I have some serious catching up reading some blogs! ;)

I'm Not A Banana over Everybody Loves Penguin

I just remembered that I said at easter time that I'd layered I'm Not A Banana over something and here it is.

As base I've used Pretty and Polished - Everybody Loves Penguin (click the link to see a swatch).
And layered is Pretty and Polished - I'm Not A Banana (click the link to see a swatch).

Natural light.
I used two coats of INAB over ELP to really get the jellow color out over the white.
Natural light.
I must say I liked this combination where the large hexagons from ELP shine through making the manicure interesting. I'm also sure INAB would look great over just a white creme, pastel yellow or regular yellow creme too.
Natural light.

Sunlight.

Lamp light.

I really like how pale the yellow looks, it's almost like a pastel but more glazed with the jelly going on. :)

Pretty and Polished - I'm Not A Banana, swatch

I was thinking of having a easter theme this week on the blog, since easter is coming up. So the blog maybe will be more yellow and spring like than usual even though I don't think yellow is just for easter. I were yellow all year around, but I figured that easter could be a excuse to show it more. ;)

For to day I have this yellow jelly polish from Pretty and Polished called I'm Not A Banana.

The color shown on the photos feel color accurate and the yellow is of the darker kind, at least on my nails. It also has three sizes of glitter; white small glitter(maybe mini hexes?) and larger white hexagons and black hexagons in the same size. Whit the coats some white glitter appear yellow which is really cool.
Did you notice the VNL? Yea, I figured.. this is four coats but it reached its "full opacity" by two coats. But a jelly is a jelly and I knew that it wouldn't cover so well.
The formula was a bit thin and I had some problems getting glitter on the brush and had to place them since for example I had for some reason got only white glitter on one nail. ;)
I don't think I'll wear it like this alone again, I like that it feels ugly and beautiful in the same time but it's hard not to look at the nails and think that they are super stained with that nuance of yellow.
However, I know for a fact that it looks amazing layered over lighter shades so this bottle will be used! I've also have ideas with seriously cool nail art with this in the future so in the end I really love "I'm Not A Banana"
soooo shiny! look!
What do you think about this? Do you see the potential like me or is this just horrible with the vnl?

Kleancolor - Madly Matte over Colorblind gradient nail art

Yes, one of my newest polishes is Madly Matte from Kleancolor. I thought that I could try it on since it's cheap and I've only tested HM's matte nail polish before.

In comparison between HM's matte nail polish Madly Matte didn't get as matte as HM's, it's more like semi matte to matte. HM's matte polish dries in like 5 seconds and Madly Matte needed perhaps 10 seconds which still is fast though. And application was slightly harder too with Kleancolor. However, the reason why I like Madly Matte more than HM's despite the mentioned above? It frickin' stays matte! It's the third day and it's still matte, well it has started to get shinier but is still more matte than the ones with shiny top coat on. HM's polish seems to be matte just a day and the other day it's as shiny as a normal polish. When applying hand cream it also feel like HM's get shiny and stays shiny afterwards while Kleancolors went back to matte after a while.  However I'll test this more careful in some matte and shiny nail art.
I really liked my Colorblind Gradient in matte too. If you click the link you'll find the full post abut the nail art. I think I actually like it slightly more like this, in matte! It's almost like a stone with all that matte gray..Like granite.. :D

Ninja Polish - Melted Snowman with snow man nail art

Hi!
For today I have an awesome polish and awesome nail art to show you all. The star in the composition is Melted Snowman from Ninja Polish. I still don't get if I should call it I'm feeling nail-venturous as a brand also?  I started of by making a very high smiley with gray since gray is a good color when trying to complement white and black glitter polishes I think. And then I added the polish Melted Snowman. And on my left hand I painted a snowman.
Above is my left hand and below is my right hand.
Melted snowman contains of large and medium size hexagon white glitter (for the body of the snow man) and small and even tiny black glitter(as eyes, mouth and buttons). It also have copper string glitter, which maybe could be sticks for arms or symbolize the carrot nose. The base of the polish isn't clear, it's some blueish shimmer in it too. I first was a bit disapinted when I saw the shimmer in the bottle but when on the nails I really loved the effect, little bit like the actual shimmer/glitter on snow and ice.
For this nail art I used 3-4 coats, but below you can see just one coat as a reference. As you can see from the picture above I had some problem separating the white hexagon glitter from each other so there is a need of dabbing and trying to place the glitter. However I really love this polish and think that the miner placing and dabbing problem is worth it! Drying time was normal too.

HM Nail Polish - Miss Stone Heart
Jordana Pop Art - Black
Ninja Polish - Melted Snowman
for the snow man nail art:
Kleancolor - White
