W7 - Purple Dazzle, swatch

What about more purple? This time the glittery type. W7 - Purple Dazzle has small purple metallic glitter in a clear base. It can be used as layering but can also be built up to opacity on its own, like below. I haven't made any notes but I suspect this to be 4 coats, and then a couple of coats of tc to make it smooth and glossy. I also have a Green Dazzle and a Pink Dazzle, and I which I had Orange Dazzle from the same collection.

Bought from Fragrancemad.com for something quite cheap, like 2-4 euros per bottle..when it still was possible to ship through the UK that is..*sigh*

Black and white houndstooth freehand nail art

Think I've mentioned it before, but houndstooth is my favorite pattern since some years ago and just this week I actually bought a black and white houndstooth bikini(!) That reminded me about this manicure I did last year. Honestly I just adore this and even though it took serious amount to freehand the pattern on both hands it was so worth it! :D And as you might have seen I also love studded manicures but I wish that the studs in this manicure would have been silver instead of gold, but it's still a favorite manicure ;)  This manicure also contains one of my favorite polishes; W7 - Salt n Pepper. And since it Sunday I finally can join Nail Art Sunday! :)

W7 - Green dazzle, glitter gradient funky french

Today it's green nails in the 31dnc! I decided to do this green glitter gradient funky french. W7 is a brand I really like (budget brand from the UK) but since Royal Mail went bananas I haven't ordered anything. The color of the glitter is a cold green with blue undertones (actually I think that the last photo is the most color accurate!) and the name of it is Green Dazzle. I didn't use any green base and only layered the glitter until it covered. Some how I feel like something is missing, like if this manicure would have needed something more? Like free hand nail art in black?  Rhinestones? I don't know? What do you think?

Old archive nails: Nailside inspired "Abstract 80's"

The sixth day of old archive nails. I'm starting to get a bit fed up showing these oldies when I got nail art's that I'm much more content about. Like during this summer I had a period I just kept creating so many awesome manicures one after another..lol I sound like such a bragger but mostly when I do nail art there's a variety of quality between my nails art's, ie. I'm less content and makes errors, however during that period I was content all the time, I guess I was filled with creative inspiration!

Nuff' rambling, right? Today I'm showing my first try at the blogger Nailside's "abstract 80's". Here you can find her tutorial. If you haven't heard about Nailside, I'd say she's the goddess of tape manis, hers are perfect, symmetrical and just damn impeccable. She make's it look simple. A sad thing is that she unexplainable have disappeared since April this year. Anyhow, below is my less good try of it. The thought of it is that the sheer/jelly polish are suppose to show through both colors and give a cool graphical effect, very much like something cool abstract 80's thing going on. Let's put it like this, my polish choice weren't the best, my tape placement and use failed miserable and also the photos are in bad light etc. These are from November 2012 and I think I should make a new try, I've practiced some with the tape, stopped using regular stationary tape (which don't work for me), I've bought a bunch of great jellies and maybe I could recreate this much better. :)

Geometrical pink glitter nail art 2

Do you remember my pink geometrical nail art I showed you in the beginning of the United in Pink? After I had tried Pink Dazzle I thought that it could look cool to use that in the same type of nail art. And since it's pink I figured that I might as well would show it during this week, even though it's a it of a replay.

This time all four nails was included and I started off with the black lines and then filled in th glitter where it should be.  I think this looked cool too, but I must say I liked the other glitter better for this combination at least. If the base would have been black this might have looked a bit better. Not the best photos either, but we'll just have to live with that! :)

W7 - Pink Dazzle, swatch

My second pink post of the day and as you remember it's still United in Pink and also Pink Thursday.

Here I'm showing W7 - Pink Dazzle. I really like W7, which is an english brand and I got a few of them but haven't ordered since the UK post went totally bananas. Any one who knows if that issue has cleared up? Back to Pink Dazzle, it's metallic cerise glitter in a clear base and I used 4 coats for this and then 2 or 3 coats of top coat to make it glossy instead of gritty. I think it tends to look a bit thick on the nail and layering could also be a good choice. I like this polish even though I wish that the glitter could have been finer. And oh, I also got Purple Dazzle and Green Dazzle laying around from the same collection.

 

What do you think about Pink Dazzle? Anything for you?

W7 - Purple Rain, swatch

Today I'm showing W7 - Purple Rain. I first bought it because I thought it was part of the duochrome Planet Collection from W7. I later realized that it wasn't but as you can see from the bottle it looks like it do have some duochrome range.

However on the nails there's nothing duochrome about it. It's hard to explain the finish of this, but I would say it's glass-flecked and warm purple toned. On my ring finger I've used 3 coats on my naked nail and on my other nails I've used a black creme base and 2 coats. As you can see there's some color difference but it covered better than I thought on its own.

 

 I've also chosen to decorate this manicure with a light blue flower rhinestone as you can see. :)

I really want to wear Purple Rain again, I don't think my photos makes it justice. When the sun return I'll try use it again and show you again. :)

Bold metal stud rhinestone nail art

I've told you before, but I got a thing for metal stud rhinestones. I think they're excellent decoration for a manicure that you've worn for a while and want renewed.

These ones are very large, I can't have them in all directions and also I can only have the diamond four shape on my thumbs. The metal stud rhinestones comes in many sizes and shapes, for example I've got square 3MM ones in this post. I think these are 5-6MM x 4MM.

To apply the metal stud rhinestones I've used nail glue, otherwise they would peel of way too easy. On top of that I've applied two coats of top coats to really seal in the design. However I don't mind having my nails super shiny so that's not a problem for me.

Here I've used W7 - Metallic Neptune as a base, swatches can be found HERE. It's duochrome and I actually think this design would look better with a creme as a base instead but this was fun trying out anyhow.

But now I going to talk about Metallic Neptune.

Metallic Neptune is a dark duochrome polish. In the bottle it ranges from green, to teal, to blue, to purple, to pink and to that some sort of yellow shimmer color.

On the nails the base is green to teal lingering of to marin blue and then dark purple. Even though it's very dark the polish never looks completely black. The pink and yellow is not there to find, at least not on my nails. In the whole my thoughts goes towards ink or oil when I look at my nails.

The application was perfect and it covers in opposite with the other W7 from this collection in just one coat!

When I took this photo below it was snowy and cloudy but I can't wait to try this on in the summer when there is sun/clouds because I think it might look better then.
