Lush Lacquer - Neon Lights, swatch

Today I'm showing the ultimate summer polish, it's neon in lots of colors in one polish!

Basically by looking at it it's a gorgeous polish with four sizes of hexagons in four matte neon colors. The colors are neon pink, neon yellow, neon green and neon orange.

 The base color is white and I would call it a crelly and I used 3 coats. I guess two coats could do the trick too, and I'd also recommend this for layering on white. The drying time was fast, before I had got the to last nail it has completely dried on the other hand which is amazing.

Now to the problems; the formula is a bit grainy with the glitter, making application hard. I'd almost go so far that I'd say that the polish contains a little bit too much glitter, there's definitely no need for fishing, almost the opposite to get less glitter on the brush. Top coat is a must for this, there's reflective curling on the glitter and since there's so much glitter they almost stick up from the surface. I think I used two coats of SV for this and I think I refilled with another coat of SV the other day.

When I wrote this post I remember being more positive than I am now, despite that I will definitely use it again, the hazzle is worth it because I love the color combination.

W7 - Purple Rain, swatch

Today I'm showing W7 - Purple Rain. I first bought it because I thought it was part of the duochrome Planet Collection from W7. I later realized that it wasn't but as you can see from the bottle it looks like it do have some duochrome range.

However on the nails there's nothing duochrome about it. It's hard to explain the finish of this, but I would say it's glass-flecked and warm purple toned. On my ring finger I've used 3 coats on my naked nail and on my other nails I've used a black creme base and 2 coats. As you can see there's some color difference but it covered better than I thought on its own.

 

 I've also chosen to decorate this manicure with a light blue flower rhinestone as you can see. :)

I really want to wear Purple Rain again, I don't think my photos makes it justice. When the sun return I'll try use it again and show you again. :)

Last week I was nominated to the Sunshine Award by Little Miss Nailpolish. Sorry it took so long time but I did't have the time until now. I also saw that Fastnaglad also has given me this award now. So thank you so much both of you! It makes me so happy to recieve this.

The seven facts:

1. It was about two years ago I last counted my nail polish stash and I have no clue how many I got today.
2. I now got a bachelor in industrial design and really hope I'll get the opportunity to work with it in the future.
3. I'm not really into chips and salty snacks, my favorite combination is Marabou milk chocolate with these pink Ferrari cars.
4. I'm more of a dog person than anything else. Even though I like all kinds of animal.
5. I don't like soft drink or bubbly water and I don't like hamburgers and pizza that much.
6. I do like cooking my own food from scratch and baking my own bread etc.I don't like all the additives they put into food.
7. I have a boyfriend and dog and we live together in a flat in the north of Sweden.

There's a lot of people who inspires me, some because they have beautiful nails and shows beautiful swatches and some people inspires me because of there innovative nail art and technique. And some are even both. ;) I've been a bit slow here so I've seen that many of the bloggers I like have already got this award, but some will get it anyhow. ;)

She's had a little blog paus now, but I've followed her for a long time and her nails are beautiful and I love her nail art and swatches. As soon as I see that she's updated I'll go and check it out.

She's a quite "new" blogger but she's already popular and it's understandable, she shows the most beautiful swatches and it's almost dangerous to check her photos because I end up putting lots of polishes on my wish list!

I also wanted to ad a 6th blogger which is a norwegian blog I've started to read this last period of time. I really like reading her posts and looking at her photos. She deserve some extra attention and is well worth a visit. :)

I realize that it would be easy to fill in many more blogs and bloggers as well, there are so many of you out there who's so inspiring, have awesome nails, shows beautiful swatches and nail art's, write awesome text and you all seems so nice and kind. Basically you all, both mentioned and not mentioned, makes blogging so much funnier for me. :)

China Glaze - Surfin' For Boys, swatch

Today I'm showing a bright neon orange jelly-like polish with pink shimmer making it look coral. I used
3 coats and there is some vnl but not so much that I bothered. Surfin' For Boys was in China Glaze's 2012 summer neon collection for those interested. ;)

I must say that I really like love this polish, it's so vibrant and perfect for summer and tanned hands. It's also unique in at least my collection having this cool shimmer in the neon.

Blue My Mind sloping funky french

Hello, today I'm showing a blue sloping funky french with black stripes and orange rhinestones. As you can see by the length of my nails these are archive nails. But I hope you don't mind some length differences here in the blog. :)

With some luck, if Linda accept this as blue enough, this could join Lindas Nailoramas Blue Monday. ;) But I could understand if it's too multi colored. :)

The blue is the well-known Blue My Mind from HM. A well-know fact is that some people's blue-pigmented polishes (like this one) has faded, and as soon as I got time I'll find mine and check out if mine also has faded because I suspect it has..

Mickey Mouse funky french nail art

Nail Art Sunday at Lelack and the theme was "Disney". I must confess that I've never been that interested in Disney like some people I know are. Anyhow, I decided for old version Mickey Mouse and wanted to do it like a funky french. I think this has potential, but I wasn't so steady on my hands today and I couldn't find my favorite tools..well it's not perfect but I'm showing it anyhow. Hope you'll still like it. :)

Fan brush nail art in yellow and blue

Hi, I thought that I should have lots of time for nail related things this week but I was wrong. Time is moving (too) fast.

Today I'm showing the manicure I wore yesterday. Yesterday, the 6th of June it was the national day here in Sweden so I decided that I wanted to do a yellow and blue nail art. I did a Swedish flag nail art last year, which was ugly.. and I haven't showed it here yet and I'm not sure I will. ;) Anyhow I wanted to do something new and remembered that I have a fan brush. I also saw an inspiring nail art with it but in other colors.

I quite liked the end result, it's not too in-your-face but still fun. :) I'll use the fan brush more times in the future for sure.

Green water marble

Hi!
Today I'm showing a green water marble, I'm also participating in Green Wednesday at Vacker&Underbar.

I was trying this new spray method but the result didn't come out the way I wanted it to. However it ended up looking kinda cool anyhow, feels vegetable like or swamp like. :) What do you think about it?

Kleancolor - Pastel Purple, swatch

Let us look at Pastel Purple from Kleancolor! This is two coats with an awesome formula and as you can see the purple leans towards red. I really like it this :)

Whirled away in a green and blue gradient

Nail Art Sunday at Lelack and this Sunday the theme is free so I chose showing you a gradient I did some days ago. It's not my most seem less gradient but I like the color combination and the glitter, it reminds me of summer. As usual Whirled Away is a bit tricky to applicate as I've written about >HERE< before.

Holographic dotted gradient

It's finally Friday and also Holo Friday at Skimmerskuggan.

Today I'm showing a holographic dotted gradient with my two favorite colors from Color Club's Halo Hues collection, the purple Eternal Beauty and the black Beyond. nomnom, I really liked this combination. :)

Colorblind^2 in a gray and blue gradient

Hi folks! I'm finally back and school is over, almost at least. Everything went fine with my school project and I feel so content! :D

Now let's check out some nail art! This is something I wore for some weeks ago.

It's basically a gradient in blue and gray and I really liked the outcome. Gray is such a cool combination with bright colors like this in my opinion.

On top you see small matte black and matte white square glitters in a clear base called Colorblind^2 from Dandy Nails. If your memory is more than fine you might remember I've shown another Colorblind from Dandy Nails, namely the Colorblind without the "^2" with larger black and white glitter. If not you can check it out >HERE<.

Sorry for the out of focus shot on the bottles but that one was the best I got.

Blog pause

As you might have noticed, I'm having a blog pause. 

I'm in the end of my diploma thesis and there's almost no room for anything but work. Yesterday I was at school working from 8 in the morning to 12 at the night and when I got home my only interest was my bed so you see what I mean.

But I'll be back when I got more time. :) xoxo

Nail art's I'm less proud of..

Ah, let's look at the uglies as well then ;) Lela wasn't truly content with my contribution so I searched for the nail art's I'm less proud of so to say. I warned you, this will be increasing by ugliness as we move down the post..

To the left above I have a really old nail art (made 5-6 year ago)with my cuticles filled with polish. It was also by the time when my nail polish hoarding/nail art interest had just started and I didn't have a perfect light green polish going towards yellow so I was experimenting with layering, not so successful though. I also hate the nail shape I had at that time, the edges are SO round! This has not been showed here at the blog before.

To the right above I have a pretty new layering with China Glaze - Get Carried Away which I have showed here at the blog before. Incredible butt ugly combination. 

Above I have one of my "tape nail art" experiments. My intentions were good, I mean the polishes are great but the outcome was horrible. This experiment involved regularly stationary tape which for some reason works great for some and less good for me.

And above I have a special collage of ugliness. Pedicures gone bad; the one at the top is even worse than it looks, the "glitter smiley" is actually yellow toned.. Too large rhinestones, smudges and messy dotticures. Do I even have to say anything more? :D

However, I must say I like the bold ring I'm wearing in the collage..however it's gone since some years ago. *pointing out the only thing I liked in this post*

The grass-like funky french

Hi again, as I said in my last post I said that I'd participate in Lelack's Nail Art Sunday, and so I will! :)

This week them theme was "gräsliga veckan", which could be translated into "ugly/awful/horrible week" (in nail art of cause). When I read about the theme my thought was of the word "gräslig", it's actually a fun word because it can also be translated to something grass-like or grassy with a free interpretation so that's what I did. Of cause I have some failed nail art's too, especially when I was a newbie, I hope I can get them posted tonight too. :)

For this nail art I did a light green funky french and added some grass on one of the sides. I also thought that it would look good with a green rhinestone so I added one on each nail.

 I guess this isn't my best nail art but I wouldn't call it failed or ugly. And I do like green nail art's. :D

I also felt like posing my nails to a matching background so I used the leafs of Daffodils (haha, fun name) which isn't a grass but at least it's green. :D
