Pink, blue and green water marble

Since I wasn't content with the last nail art showing of Def-defying and Hanging in the balance I thought that I show a new nail art with them and one extra polish. I been wanting to do a water marble again for a while and thought that pink, blue and green could be cool together.

The three colors I used was all China Glaze and Hang Ten toes (pink),  Def-defying (green) and Hanging in the balance (blue).
I was aiming to make a chevron/striped pattern to make each nail look similar to each other. I don't think I succeeded fully, but it at least came out almost looking like they where similar. I've watched some youtube videos done by the amazing mysimplelittlepleasure (the goddess of water marble) and she actually said that she had problem making the nails look different from each other. I think I got the opposite problem.. haha :D

I think it came out okay, but I think it came out darker than I wanted.
Hope you liked it!

Failed tape manis..

Hi!
To day I'll show you two polishes and two failed tape nail arts.. Seriously, I can't do tape manicures, my nails are too curved to all directions.

I've used China Glaze - Def-defying (green) and China Glaze - Hanging in the balance (blue). Here I have two coats for both o them, but in the future I'd use 3 coats for Def-defying. I really like the color of Def-defying, can't get enough of that nuance. The blue of Hanging in balance is not what I thought it was, I think I have at least 3 similar if not dupes of it already and I didn't need one more.

To the tape nail art:
I wanted to make a slim triangle, with the point heading to my cuticles. The slimness was to avoid my curved nails a bit at least, but when I tried making my triangles, the base of the triangles was forced together by the curve so I caved in and did this shape below.

The shapes didn't come out sharp so I decided to make something else on my other hand, just trying out the technique. This came out even worse. The reason to make tape nail art is for the sharp lines, and I could have done this on freehand and much better.
With flash, so the blue color is too bright and purple.
Tape and I just seem to oil and water. Not combinable. Well, except when I did them in this direction.

For tomorrow I have another nail art (which I actually like better) with these two polishes together again.

Entry to giveaway :)

Another giveaway I've stumbled upon. It's fun finding new nail art/nail polish bloggers! The prices are amazing and the blog is called "Of Life And Lacquer".
Borrowed from Of Life And Lacquer
Hihi.. I want to win the Jessica polishes the most. :D

Giweaway

To something nicer than today's polish.. Linda, the Swedish blogger from Lindas nailorama has a giweaway and there are some cute polishes in the pot. One of them is her own franken; Betty go fresh. Which I really would like to have! ;)

China Glaze - Get Carried Away swatch

This is a polish which on the screen looked nice. But now when I got it I can't for the love of it understand why I bought it! I almost never don't like my polishes but for this one I don't know about..

The base is a clear but black, super sheer black I guess and the glitters are opaque black string glitters, 2MM hexagons in opaque black, glittery silver and glittery red.

First I tried it one my naked nail, and it seemed like it would never cover so I decided to layer it. When deciding color I figured that white would be good since I liked to see the whole range of glitter in it and I also thought that the gray background would be cool. One coat made the clear base streaky so two was a must for me. And then one coat of topcoat.

Ehm, I don't know. This ain't doing it for me. If I knew what I know now I wouldn't have bought it. So if you got any tip for this polish, maybe for a base coat choice, I would gladly take them!

So, what did you think about this polish?

China Glaze - It's A Trap-eze swatch

This was my second favorite polish to test from the ones I bought. It's a multi colored glitter in two sizes. It applies very easy and the glitters spreads nicely over the nail without any work. In this glitter I've seen a color range from blue, green, silver, gold, red and maybe purple/pink(?). When looking at the bottle it seems like the glitters are in a milky base, however this milky base is super sheer. I think that the glitters would fill up the nail before the actual polish would get opaque on this one.

For this one I layered it over a white creme to be able to get the sprinkle on a cake-feeling, with a bit distance between each glitter. What you see on all pictures is two coats over the white even if I think that one coat would be enough. The extra coat was to see if the milky base would do something for the look. If it did? Well, a small effect but not that visible like W7 nail polishes with their milky base where the difference is huge from one to two coats. And top coat is a must for this.

Without flash.
With flash.
Despite the sheerness I like this polish, it makes me happy and I wouldn't mind having it both on winter and summer. I also can't wait layering it over more pastels, like the different colors on cup cakes! Maybe that's the big advantage about the sheerness in this polish.

China Glaze - Whirled Away swatch

Hi everybody. I couldn't keep my self from trying out this gorgeous one. I love the effect of matte black and white glitter. I did this over an old manicure which I haven't showed you yet.
I think it look great, it has black string glitter, about 2MM hexagon opaque black glitter and about 3MM white opaque glitter.
A problem was application...This below is after ONE coat and almost no glitter is on! The base is clear, but not so glitter filled. To get the result above I had to dab and place glitter for at least 3 coats. And I actually shook my bottle (to get as much glitter as possible) but that definitely didn't work. I then at least thought that with so much clear polish the glitter must drown in them sealing the glitter in. Wrong on that one too..top coat is a must, otherwise the glitter feels sharp and get stuck in everything. The string glitter also sometimes comes in two from production and I had to pull away some extra ones that had curled up.
That was a lot of negativities, but I still like the result, after I'd laid down some work on it.

China Glaze - Whirled away (glitter)
China Glaze - Hang ten toes (neon)
Kleancolor - Black
W7 - Pink dazzle (small pink glitter)

Package arrived!

And finally they've arrived! Or well, last week but still. ;)
Color Club - Port-folio, China Glaze - Def-defying, China Glaze - Hanging in the balance, China Glaze - Whirled away, China Glaze - Get carried away, China Glaze - It's a trap-eze
And which one did I try first, if not Whirled away! ;)

Another issue, Do any one of you have any problem with blogger? (if you got blogspot) Making a post is painful since editing of the pictures are so hard. If I write text first, which I often do and then adds pictures, the pictures always get on the top of the page above the text and they are very hard to pull down since I want them below my intro text. It doesn't help to put the pictures in first either, that's almost worse. It's time consuming and irritating and annoying. I've actually been thinking of changing blog plat form. Anyhow, can anything be done?

Marabou milk chocolate nail art

Today it feels like if I've been busy all day. That's why such a late Sunday nail art post, but I wanted to show you any how. Lelack decided that the theme of this week should be trademark.

I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do and pretty much went for it. I'm a chocolate lover and thought it would be fun with chocolate nails. I don't know, can you buy Marabou chocolate outside of Sweden? Anyhow, it's plain sweet milk chocolate. And that's what I did, Marabou milk chocolate nail art. :) Hope you'll like it!

I like how it came out except that I realized that I've got to few proper chocolate colored polishes. My chocolate nails look like nougat rather than chocolate. Any tip for good milk chocolate colored polishes? ;) Otherwise I think the colors are spot on almost. :)

Chunky Holo Scarlet with rhinestones

Hi everybody!
For to day I have a layering with rhinestones to show. Chunky Holo Scarlet is not holographic but in some rare lights it's possible to see the glitter shifting in colors.

Mostly it looks like the picture above and below, both from normal light. It looks nice but it feels like red glitter on black, plain and simple.
Application of Chunky Holo Scarlet was a bit hard, the formula was very thick and therefore took forever to dry.
And now how it looks sometime..In some lights it's possible to see some yellow/orange in the glitter.

In the bottle I can see green and also blue, which I've never seen on my actual nails.
I've been thinking if I've got a bad batch of this, because I've got the impression that they've been better than this. This was the only small glittered polish I got from this collection so I can't compare with the other ones. I've got the Chunky Holo Black with the larger glitter and that one works.

Polishes used:
Kleancolor - Black
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Scarlet
3MM red rhinestones

Have you bought any of the Chunky Holo collection? Has it been easy to see the "holo" in them or just as hard as for me?

White sloping funky french

Here I have a white sloping funky french with at least some christmas and and winter feel to it. At least the colors. Flowers aren't that winter like, but this one is in gold so.. ;)
A very simple nail art but I like it.
Sad thing is that the fine liner I've used, is very sheer, so in some light it doesn't show so much. I'll remember for next time to only paint it on the white and not both like I did here.

Blue nails with a red smiley

Here I've got some archive nails for you. I actually like this combination, of blue and red and how the tip wear is cleverly hidden by a red smiley. It works for me at least. :)
About the polishes then, everything is Paris Memories, and the blue nuance is a layering.

Funky french in blue, red and black

Hi! Worst weekend ever..couldn't go to my parents because of massive amounts of snow which filled up the roads too quickly, it was just to cancel the trip. And during that night someone skidded in to our parked car on the back side which made it move some meters hitting another parked car. The back of the car got pretty demolished in other words and the idiot who hit the car just left the scene. And the police can't do a thing. And except with the troubles with the car, police and insurance, me and my boyfriend have spent our time cleaning our apartment and thrown away huge amounts of food since we discovered it was infested with small flour beetles. Plain crap weekend. :(

And the reason you got here, I hope, some nail art! For to day I have a funky french with fun colors to show. I really like the combination of colors and the width of the lines. The pictures are a with flash and therefore not so good but the other was worse.

Lava flow funky french

This is the third polish from this W7 collection, the other two, I've showed here (Salt n Pepper) and here (Mosaic). My favorites are definitely this one and Salt n Pepper. And Lava flow is indeed very similar to Salt n Pepper except for the red glittery glitter shining among the matte black glitters laying around in the milky base. The application is also the same, two coats which is awesome. I guess that it is the same polish recipe just some red glitter added.

As you can see I choose to paint some lines with fine liners too in red, white and black. Some how it got me reminded about sports socks, you know with that ribbon going around. Oh well, I liked it anyhow.
Above you can see a close up. I used two coats and as you can see the second coat didn't cover up the under laying glitter. Very cool in my opinion, that's why I think two coats is a must, because I think that one coat could cover up short nails but then you'd loose this effect. :)

Mosaic funky french

Hello girls! It's a wonderful Saturday and I'm off north in Sweden visiting my parents. So not to let the blog die during the week-end when I want to socialize, I've scheduled my posts.

This is a polish I really like, its from W7 Nail Polish, a brittish budget brand I really like and really recommend. This is part of a collection of three containing Mosaic (this one) and Salt n Pepper and Lava flow which I'll show you tomorrow! It's not a new collection but I'd like to show it any how.

To make this manicure funnier I decided to make it pointy looking, like if I'd used tape (which I haven't)

As you can see in the close up; the base is bright blue and is filled with dark blue glitter (which appears matte but isn't) and glittery light green glitter.
What you can also see in the above picture is that the finish (like on the other two) is milky, or half jelly. The third and final coat doesn't cover the under laying glitter creating an almost jelly sandwich effect which I really like.
This polish is actually not my favorite of the three, not because it's ugly, but because I find the other so super awesome!
Something I regret making this manicure is the choice of base polish, it's too opaque I think. And I'm not sure I like this kind of way making funky frenches. And yes, a down side as to all glitter polishes is that it take some time removing.
Polishes used:
Collection 2000 (base)
W7 Nail Polish - Mosaic
Sure Promise (black)

I bought my W7 Nail polishes at fragrancemad.com. They usually have a take three W7, pay for two-offer which is awesome.

So, do you like this one? Do you own any W7 Nail Polishes?

Pink crackle on bright blue nails

What about something blue for this Friday? I've got one picture to show you and it is edited on two nails which you will notice. Archive again. So as you can see it's a nail art with a pink crackle diving the nail.

 Polishes used:
HM Nail Polish - Blue my mind
Isadora Graffiti - Masterpiece Pink
Sure Promise (black)

Do you think this a good use for crackles you think? I'm ambivalent, maybe on longer nails?

Yellow and brown nail art

Hi!
Busy day to day too so I'm showing you more archive. This is a manicure that is a bit weird, it is also not in it's best light since it's after a good couple of days wear and tear. I think there is some potential for this, I like Lemon Fizz and how subtle the yellow fine liner is on top, however I think I went crazy with the rhinestones.
