NCC presents: Blue stone inspired nail art

Time for my 4th post for this months Nail Challenge Collaborative theme Travel. For some years ago I was to Dominican Republic, it was a nice place but what I aiming for is that there is a special stone which they call Larimar, it's blue with white veins.  I kinda remembered them as blue and went on with my plans of making this nail art, and in my memory the veins was black. So when I googled it was too late to change plans, and I really like this end result.

So, more about the nail art. I used a bright blue color, then I used the Saran Wrap technique multiple times (tutorial is in the section above). First black on top of the blue, then blue again to create a marble stone like look. I freehanded the black arrow shape and white lines and placed these Born Pretty Store's blue stone imitation rhinestones. This manicure was hard to get color accurate, since the blue was too bright for my camera, and brighter than below, but did my best to edit the color correctly. Hope you'll like them as much as I did. :)

Born Pretty Store nail art stone imitation rhinestone the itemID: 20634 .(http://www.bornprettystore.com/flatback-cute-nail-decoration-round-water-drop-studs-nail-p-20634.html)

So this nail art wheel contains 4 colors of stone imitation rhinestones made out of plastic. The colors are white, blue, red and green which all have black stone like veins/marble look. Each color also comes in 3 different types, round, tear drop and oval. All the decorations are pretty big so I'd recommend them for accent nails like I've done above. I attached mine with nail glue because of their size and they sit nicely on the nail, wear ability wise they lasted well and after 3 days (which include me moving out/cleaning out an apartment) only the right hand's decoration show some slight wear. They're available for $3.52 and you can use my 10% discount code on that price. And as usual BPS has free world wide shipping.

NCC presents: Car nail art in black and green

The theme in the Nail Challenge Collaborative is Travel. And a very common way of travelling is by car these days. Even car vacation's are common, I remember from being a child that my family once went to north Europe by car, we went to Denmark, The Netherlands and a quick visit to Germany.

My 3rd post is therefore a car nail art, stamped with BornPrettyStore's BPL-022 image plate, which just happens to contain a nice car print. Somehow it felt like I had a bad stamping day and some of my cars are crashing, but some day I'll be a stamping pro ;) I guess practice makes perfect, and can't wait to try the other patterns too. I also did my first try stamping on top of textured polish, with the full print on all nails, except my accent where I just did one car and some black rhinestones. I used a green bright base for this and I'm also joining Green Wednesday. :D

Polishes and materials used:
Dance Legend - Saint-Tropez
MoYou's special black nail polish
Black opaque rhinestones - triangle shaped
Born Pretty Store Image Plate BPL-022 (itemID: 20787 http://www.bornprettystore.com/geek-pattern-nail-stamp-template-image-plate-born-pretty-65cm-p-20787.html)

The image plate is of a larger size and is 12.5 x 6.5cm and each pattern is 2,5 x 1,5 cm which makes them perfect for my nails (I can't use Konad's full-nail-images for example). The reason why I decided to try this image plate, called "geek pattern" is because it has a lot of fun full size pattern. I'm really stoked about the circuits, gears, cars, air planes, umbrellas, sunglasses, hangers, shoes, pencils and "fun faces" (even if that one isn't as long as the rest), I'm less into the soccer and speech bubble pattern. So basically I have so many fun nail art ideas with these to come!

At the moment BornPrettyStore has a huge 50% sale on stamping plates til' the end of July, but if you want something which isn't discontinued from their stash, feel free to use my 10% off code which is NGL91

***Some products in this post have been provided for review, however it has not changed my opinion about them.***

Essence - Bee My Honey, swatch

Picked this out at DM, it's a special collection called Nail Candies containing 5 shades. The bottle says "6 in 1" and on the back I can read "Soft skimmering nail candies with 6 benefits for beautiful manicured nails; hardening, protecting, ridge filling, fast drying and fruity scented with a high gloss finish."

Well, I picked out the pale pastel yellow Bee My Honey. So to start with the positives, this yellow shade is awesome, fresh, pale and with a retro feel, the soft shimmer is subtle and not so visible but probably adds some depth to the colour.

I'd guess that the formula is jelly since it doesn't seem to cover that well. I don't mind jelly but this one has streaky problems which means that after 5(!) coats it still looks streaky. The 6 in 1 quote makes me suspect that they meant that it needs 6 coats perhaps? ;) The brush isn't like the good rounded flat as in the standard collection so it's a bit hard to work with. Especially since the formula is thin and drippy. It also isn't fast drying at all, even with SV it feels slow drying, probably because of the multiple coats.

As mentioned it is scented. I don't mind scents so it doesn't bother me. It isn't intense, only if I put my nails to my nose. The actual scent is hard to describe, chemical candy like fruit of some kind.

Basically I sadly can't recommend this, way too many coats, and sadly too streaky with fewer coats. A pity considering that awesome nuance.. I would have bought the other nuances too, but now I'm not in the mood.. :/

Price: 1,79€ at DM.

NCC presents: Neon gradient and palm tree nail art

Happy Monday guys, here's my second post for the Travelling theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative this July. This time I'm just keeping it simple and you can just think of any place like this. Palm trees, hot, sunny, sunsets, sand, hot water etc, that was the "place" I was thinking for to this.

I started of with a neon yellow, then added pink and blue to make a gradient. As usual the pink blended with the neon yellow and looks like orange, even though no orange was used. In retrospect I'm not really happy with the blue, it looks too metallic to me and didn't blend as well as the pink. The black I just kept simple and just did the same palm trees in silhouettes on all nails. Hope you likes it! :)

NCC presents; french and paris inspired nail art

De la lune et retour. To the moon and back. The theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative for July is Travel. I just love travelling and visiting new places. I have such a huge "bucket list" of places I want to go to. The moon is not one of them, and Paris I've been to a couple of times. But I do like france and wouldn't mind going there more times too.

For the nail art I decided to make something nude/pastel like with black details, feminine but still not too sugar sweet. So, pink lines, freehanded little lace thingy's, freehand text and Eiffel tower.  I which I would have made the "retour" a bit smaller, since the "R" isn't visible from all angles. Hope you like it. :)

Russian polishswap :)

Again me and my russian friend @Lakobotan has done a polishswap. Me and Maria has been friends for some years now and since we both share a passion for nail polish, it's fun to be able to swap and get hold of polishes which otherwise would have been impossible and/or very expensive to get. :)

Today I'm sharing some of the stuff she gave me. The russian candy I kinda ate the very first days and some souvenir stuff is left out side the pictures.

There's too much to mention them all, but Lakobotan knows how much I love matte glitter combos so there's obviously a bunch of those, some textures and really exciting and very unique polishes. For example the green Dance Legend "for men" nail polish (lol), the (probably very similar to Fantasy Fire) Irisk, the new exciting granite finish polishes, holo top coat, glow in the dark polishes, magnetic polishes, card symbol top coat and some lovely franken polishes she has made me! :D And well, much much more. :P

Also please check to the left, she has made me a little piece of pendant necklace for me! It is double sided, but on this side it is a b&w water marble design. I'll show you some more of that later because of a nail art plan. ;)

And above, I forgot to add the neon Lavelle polish in the photo with all the polishes, so it got a solo shot. That's actually the polish I'm wearing and I'll show it soon. It's neon yellow/green but also has glitter in it making it unique.

Above, some awesome stickers and also a real ribbon thingy from Irisk, can't wait to try! :D

Some neon glitter. These I'll probably frank creating own glitter top coats with. I have some suspension base which I yet haven't tried.

And yea, this last one isn't that special per ce. I just like the graphics of Anna Gorelova's special collection polishes for Dance Legend and three bottles are from collections of hers. :P

A big thanks to @Lakobotan. Check her instagram out if you haven't already ;)

And for me I've been absent for some time but life is life and I've been busy. But from next week I hope I'll be able to blog more frequently. I have some Nail Challenge Collaborative stuff still unposted so that and some russian polishes will probably be what's up in the near future. Also followed by some Born Pretty Store reviews. :P

PS. Is there any of the polishes you'd like to see in a slightly sooner future? ;D DS.
