Paris Eiffel Tower nail art for France

You remember last year, December when I said that I thought I was able to finish the Where In The World Challenge before 2014? Well, apparently I didn't, work and studies came first. I've actually got a bunch of these posts prepared since long but the main thing which made me not go ahead was because I wasn't very content with my nail art for France (I'll show it some other time though). Then I saw an awesome picture at pinterest done by Kelsie at Kelsie's Nail Files and I liked it so much that I decided to recreate it with the exception of some color changes and the fact that I added an extra accent nail with some french text. One thing I seriously can't understand though, is how I can write the text so good and then make wobbly lines? So, if this wasn't clear, this is no. 14 in Where In The World Challenge which is France. I you want to see more nail art, then click away to Lelack's Nail Art Sunday.

And some general gibberish if you'd like to read;
I like France in general, I've studied french for 6-7 years and studied french in south of France during a summer just three years ago. I wish I was better though, I understand written text and preferably if someone speaks french in a slow pace.. Other than that I've been to Paris 2 times and I like the bread, pastry, clams, wine, architecture and much much more. But I must say some negative things I've experienced too, I've seen the most violent IRL physical abuse in open street mid day including head kick, some really arrogant people and the the drivers (in a city in the south of France at least) had the most weird behavior against pedestrians when there are plash of waters nearby the pavement; instead of driving in a straight line the drivers aims to the water in hope of splashing water on the pedestrians, first I thought it was a mistake but when different cars passed by (different ages and during the day) and a majority had the same behavior I started to see the pattern.. I haven't seen that before, any one of my readers who have heard about that in any country? LOL.

  1. Älskar färgkombinationen! Jättesnyggt! Jag läste också franska i sex år men kan tyvärr inte stoltsera med någon franska idag :( men jag kan förstå vad du skrivit på långfingret ;)

  6. Aw, I love this! Really great nails you've done *-* I've personally never been to France, but I'd love to go there so much! To Paris, that's classic, and also Provence seems like such a gorgeous region... I always enjoy movies, that took place in France :D

    1. Thank you Niky! I'm still waiting for your blog to appear ;) haha
Yea, there's so many nice places to visit in France, I've been to a bunch of places like Paris (obviously) but also Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Cognac and Royan etc. Some of the "smaller" places can look so picturesque. I'd love to return some day. :)

    2. Oh, still waiting, you're so sweet :))) I'm working on it, trying to improve with my camera, which is not the best model :D so it's hard, especially now in winter, the photos suck and I have huge troubles with catching the true colours... it bothers me so much :( and also I have exams now, so hopefully I will finally have the courage to start a blog after that :))
And you are so lucky to visit all these places! Sounds amazing and they all must be gorgeous places, no wonder you'd love to get back :D :))

    3. Haha, of course I'm waiting! :D Yea, I know what you mean, winter and exams are a bad period, when I had my finals I almost didn't blog for a very long time. A good camera is great and I wish I could afford one, because honestly all photos here are with my phone camera! Light is super important, maybe extra when the "camera equipment" is less good, I try to catch natural light as often as I can (especially with swatches because as you say it feels important to show true colors... it feels unnecessary to show a review of a polish when the colors are wrong.) But now during the winter I've used a flourescent light as a source, the light is a bit too yellow which make me edit some photos (or especially some colors) but not all since some come out quite okay.
I think you should take your time and when things are less busy you can perhaps start the blog. Blogging should be fun and easy and not stressful and I also don't see the need to post every single day either, I try to (because I think it's fun) but I might as well don't do it when I don't have the time. xx

    4. What?!? With phone camera? Oh :D honestly, I wouldn't have thought this, your photos looks so good! My phone has really bad camera, that's for sure :D :D My camera is better, but still not the greatest, plus I'm not really a good photographer :D :D :D You're right, day light is the best, however these winter days it's quite hard. I'm also trying to experiment with my lamps, I got white light into one of them, sometimes the colours are better, but it's also still a bit yellow sometimes on the camera :D :D And we also got led lights in the kitchen, so I'm trying to work with that as well :D
Yay, I also think I still need some time, but slowly I'm getting closer and closer :D And I don't think I'll ever be able to post every single day, because I found it impossible :D :D When I do my nails, I always want to enjoy the manicure for few days, so that would go with my posts :) And how are you doing it? How often do you paint your nails? Every day or do you have some nail arts/swatches in stock? And then just post them after some time?

    5. Thank you! <3 I try my best to make them look as sharp and color accurate as possible even though I don't really have the best camera either. But still the phone takes rather good quality, and that's good, otherwise I wouldn't have had a blog. ^^

And about light, at my parents house, they have this looong flourecent light in the kitchen with cold light which is awesome for nail photos! In my kitchen I only have lousy spot lights which isn't strong or cold enough.

About posting I always (almost at least) show archive photos. I started photographing my nails 2-3 years before I started to blog so when I decided to start I had a huge archive to start from. It has shrunken some now but I still have about 60 manicures done in advance and I always seem to keep it like that. I keep manicures 1-5 days in between depending on how content I am. Manicures that are more season bounded or in challenges I post sooner but if they're non specific they can sit in the archive for a year/half a year. However the photos are non-edited so I must crop/ad text and some time edit the colors/light before they go to my to-be-posted-file. Some time I finishes 7 posts a week in advance but I mostly make post done and schedule them the night before and sometime I make them the same day. I've seen this works the best for me, I do stuff when I got the time and can therefor post more often without being forced to actually do something everyday even though it seems like I do. :D Hope this helps some! :D

  12. Sure, your phone definitely makes great photos!^^
Oh I see, so you had really huge archive, that's amazing! And it's really great system you have!! :) Thank you for sharing with me :)) I've been also trying to take photos of my manicures for some time now, but about half of them are really bad (especially the very first ones :D)... But some may be not so bad :) So I shall have also something up my sleeve when I start blogging!! :)

    1. Aw, you're welcome!

I think it's great of you to practice now before. Because every photo will get better and then you have a head start even before you've started blogging!

Some of the photos you take will probably be so good that you can post them which will make you have an archive like me.

I actually posted some photos in the beginning I wasn't 100% content with but now I'm glad I did because now it's totally possible to see how much I've evolved which I also think others like to see. everything don't have to be perfect from the start. And another thing, the first few posts will have few followers so it doesn't matter if they aren't perfect. :D

    2. Yay, I hope so, I already have selected some of the photos, that may of some use later on :D :D But I also think I may possibly post even some not that great ones, because as you say - the progress is visible then in time, then I believe you need to have a good start with a little bit more posts and as you say the matter with the followers is also true - actually, this is another my fear - that I won't get any at all :D :D You know, in these days there are so many amazing blogs around, so I think it's really hard to catch on and gain followers...

    3. Oh cool :D

Yea, I think that is smart. Some of my less good photos of perhaps less good nail art's I've afterwards recreated now days and it's so fun to see how much I've evolved :D

I used to think EXACTLY the same as you.. "what if no one will follow me?!". But at least you will have one follower from start; me ;) haha :D

No, but seriously you'll get readers after time but I think it's also important to see the blogging not only as a mean to get readers but also as a personal archive of nail art/swatches, as an inspiration in the future for one self. Also the contact with other readers is so fun. Commenting and discussing other peoples blogg posts will make them (mostly) comment in yours. :D
