Hi, this Thuesday I'll show you my favorite red polish which is from the indie brand Oopsie Daises and is called Ladybug. The name is perfect for the polish since it's jelly with the color "english red" filled with matte black hexagons in
two sizes. The color becomes much more vibrant red on the nails than the
bottle as you can see in the pictures. I used 3 coats but 2 would probably do for shorter nails, IRL the VNL wasn't that noticeable at all but I've tried layer this polish over a regular red and that worked too. I noticed that it was important to spread/place the glitter with the first coat, otherwise the glitter starts to cluster like on my middle finger on second and third coat. I also used 2 coats of SV to make it super smooth and even more glossy than before. Do I need to say I really loved this?! Now, that we established that this is beautiful I'm going to tell you the bad parts..after I'd removed the polish I had the most ugly stains ever; red dotted stains where the black glitter had been. My nails looked like if they had a decease and the staining took months to go away. It's still my favorite red but next time I'll use double coats of base coat..
There's plenty of theme days out there and today I've managed to join Red Thuesday at En mammas naglar. It a nail blog written in swedish and she'll link more red polished blogs today.
Det här finns på min önskelista! Någon gång ska jag minsann köpa det.
ReplyDeleteJa, det är jättefint och så länge man vet att det missfärgar så kan man ju undvika det. :D
Deleteit's gorgeous! ladybugs! =)
ReplyDeleteabout stains - next time, try to use some glitter base (one that goes out with polish like thin rubber).
or. I had this trick from WackyLaki - while stains are still fresh, just use a whitening toothpaste and toothbrush... it really helps ;)
Yes, I really like it!
DeleteGlitter base? Do you know any brands that sell that? :D
Yes, I've heard about whitening toothpaste, I'll probably try that if it happens again! :D
And I guess you noticed that I only have comment approval on my older posts ;)
well... Essence has peel-off base. Dance Legend has (russian brand... I've tried this one - it works!). there's also some china brand - I don't remember the name (there's funny bottle with rose-shape brush holder)...
Deleteit's really a big choice of peel-off bases now =)
and. somebody use DIY base - based on glue... like this:

=)
Wow, thank you!!! I'll definitely check that out. :D I've heard of Dance Legend too, it has been popular amongst swedish bloggers due to their holographical polishes!
DeleteHaha, and I've seen the DIY base too, I will definitely try that some time too, I've heard that it has worked for some people and less good for others.. :P
well... I've become friends with Dance Legend's base not from the first try too... you need some time to get along with something new =)
Deletethis brand... Dance Legend, I think, it's 'coz of they started with uv-light shining polishes =) 10 years ago I used these polishes to paint my party-jewelery =)))
but, as for me - they have a really amaising temperature color-changing polishes... well, they become a really good brand with much very interesting effects now =)
Ah, I see. I suppose it's like that with me too, I need some to get use to it.
DeleteAh, really? That's interesting! I didn't know that they has uv-light polishes or color changing polishes! :D They really seems to be a good brand and as soon as I can afford some I'll try get my hands on some. I've seen some web sites that actually ships to sweden/europe :D
ReplyDeleteHaha.. jag kan bara hålla med! :D
DeleteThis nail polish looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I really like it too :D
DeleteThis looks beautiful! It also makes me think of jam! Strawberry jam with seeds! Its so glossy and beautiful, I am lemming and I'm really not a red kinda gal! had staining like that once from a blue polish. Sometimes if a polish stains my nails I will scrub (lightly) with toothpaste with whitening, it lessens it a lot. I still can't get over how pretty this is! xx
ReplyDeleteYes, it sure looks great! Haha, now I'm also thinking about jam ;) I'll try toothpaste next time my nails get stains, because I suspect that it will happen more times ;)
DeleteIt's very pretty! but I can't deal with staining polish. For me the worst thing about a nail polish is that it stains my nails!
ReplyDeletebut still very pretty :)
Yes, it is pretty! Yea, for people who only where regular manicures stains never show because they're always polished, however I hate stains too because many nail art's are impossible to make, the stains ruins everything so generally I avoid staining polishes.
DeleteThis looks like such a cute polish! The red jelly-ness is amazing! Too bad it stains.. :\ I guess for me staining isn't a huge deal though because my nails always have polish on them!
ReplyDeleteYes, it sure is! ;) Yea, that's what I wrote in the previous comment, when wearing manicures that cover up the stains it's not that bad, but I hate when it happens because then I can't do some nail arts!
Deletewow I love the polish. All those glitter :') oohh :D
ReplyDeleteYes, this polish is beautiful! :D
DeleteThe name is really perfect for this polish, almost if they did the polish for the name! :D Really envy you for this beau! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I have no idea which one which came first, the name or the polish, nonetheless I love it! I bought it from etsy but I don't know if it's still available. :)
