Hi!
Today I will show country number 3 in the "where in the world-challenge", which is Spain.
I thought a lot about what I should to for Spain. There's a lot of things that comes to my mind and first I actually thought about two great artists, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. (Have I ever said that I'm very much in to art?) And I was thinking of doing something something either cubistic or surrealistic on my nails. However I didn't come up with anything inspirational enough so I started to think about symbols for spain and then the flag and then I figured that it would be cool with some sort of inverted colors in combination with the flag. And this is the result:
If it isn't obvious from the photos, the thumb has a fan and my index finger has a windmill. Weirdly I think more of The Netherlands when I think of windmills but then again I think about Don Quijote and his "dragons" so I guess it's fair. ;)
My middle finger has a flamenco dancer (with a fan) and my ring finger got a bull. It was actually that one I liked the most of all my nails even though I'm not pro bull fighting. My little finger has guitar or at least guitar like music instrument
Polishes used:
China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky
Sure Promise (red)
Jordana Pop Art - Black Mark
BK nail art color (white)
What do you think about this? Do you think that the symbols symbolize Spain? :)

China Glaze - Gussied Up Green swatch
The theme is Green Wednesday at Vacker&Underbar and then it's green on this blog. This I've shown before, and the reason I'm showing it again? It's one of my favorite green shades and this was the base for this nail art I showed you some days ago.I've also used in several nail art's before.
I don't know what more to say other than it's a dark green shimmer. One coat covers and the formula is great. Love it! :)
I wish I had some out door photos of it too but that will be the next time I'll show it I guess ;)
This is the third swatch post in a row and I hope you're okay with that. I guess I'm showing mostly nail art and then mixing it up with occasional swatches and other random nail polish related things. That's at least how I like it so I guess you've got no choice. ;)

OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard swatch
This and the other dupes has been seen everywhere for quite a while now but this is the first time it's been seen here at my blog. I'm talking about the Peridot dupe; OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard.
This is (I think three coats, could be two) over a black creme. Unnecessary to have the black, partly because it would cover alone and partly because I've heard that layering duochromes over black sometime can diminish the duochrome effect. However some time black also enhances the effect and that was what I was going for here. I don't think that the black did anything particular in this case though.
I must say I was a bit disappointed at first, in sun and most lights the duochrome effect was rather weak and my nails mostly looked pale golden. However on a cloudy summer day I was able to capture the effects. Above you see how it shifts from gold to brown. Below the gold is going towards a greenish gold.
And below towards green, almost blue. This is probably my favorite one since the full duochrome spectra shows, from the tips, brown to gold, gold to green/blueish.
Above is how the polish looks mostly, like a pale gold shimmer.
Above I've also included a photo of it in direct sun. No duochrome effect but the polish really comes alive and gets sparkling and the shade warmer which was a nice surprise for me. :)
Hope your eyes didn't die by seeing this again and hope you'll continuing having a nice Thursday. :)

W7 - Mosaic swatch
Hi! It's Monday and I just can't let go of the themes, Lindas Nailorama has adopted Blå Måndag, or Blue Monday in english from Mrs Data. And since I had a blue manicure in the archive I figured that I should show it today instead of like tomorrow. ;) I've actually shown this polish before but in a nail art >LINK< so here you have it all over the nail, fun right?! ;)
The polish is as you can see from W7 nail polish and is a blue crelly. Milky like but still opaque.
The glitters are light green and dark blue. As you can see it seems like the dark blue glitter is less glittery and doesn't shine as much as the green glitter. The color of the blue is color accurate at least on my computer screen. This is such a vacation polish, swimming in a mosaic pool. ;) The name is awesome for this polish I think.
I used three coats for this. What I like is that the base isn't really opaque so that the underlaying glitter shows like in a jelly sandwich. And I really recommend this polish, as well as the other in this collection of three; Salt n Pepper and Lava flow.
I'm looking forward to see the rest of all the blue polishes to day. :)

Nude crackle and metallic blue to nude gradient
Hi lovely readers!
It is Sunday and with that of cause Lelack's Nail Art Sunday! Today the theme was free so I ended up experimenting and I really like the result! I wore this for some days ago and I loved it and will do it again with perhaps other colors. The title says it all, which is nude crackle over metallic blue to nude gradient. I often tend to dislike crackle manicures a lot even though I were them my self. It's like if I have a cool picture of how it will look and when I make it, it looks less good. Here however, the image matched the outcome and this is the crackle manicure I like the best of the ones I've made. :)
I really loved the result, here with out top coat leaving the crackle polish matte and the base metallic and shiny.
As you can see I've used another color of nude under as a base and then sponged the metallic blue from the cuticles. And then I painted with the nude crackle all over the nail. I love how vibrant the metallic looks with this contrast of nude, like shown in the photo below.
When I see it I think of these large ice cubes in the north pole from documentary films. You know when the ice is crystal clear and ice blue with a hint of white crackles. Ah, I guess you know what I mean. :)
So, the photo just above and the two below is with top coat. I must say I preferred the ones with out top coat so the next time I'll make this I'll keep the crackle matte as it is and the base shiny.
Polishes used:
Isadora - Latte queen (crackle)
Kleancolor - Sheer Pastel Cocoa
Kleancolor - Metallic Aqua
What do you think about this? If any do you prefer the matte or the shiny one? :)

Zebra pattern in gold and dark green
Hi!
It's Saturday today, but I've been up since 7 because I was kind enough to help my boyfriend preparing for his snowboard trip with his friends. I'm thinking of sleeping some more soon but first I'll take care of our dog and then I might as well post a nail art post. :)
As you can see it's golden zebra stripes over a dark green base. I really liked this nail art and color combination.
The green is a favorite and I really liked "Gold Rush". It's very opaque, the brush is thin and and the formula is great.
Polishes used:
China Glaze - Gussied Up Green
L.A. Colors Art Deco - Gold Rush

Indian in spired large pearl rhinestone nail art
Most duochromes aren't really meant to have nail art, the nail polish it self is often enough embellishment. Anyhow, after I worn the duochrome for a couple of days I still want to try some sort of nail art on it. The nail art with the large rhinestone and the metal beads are inspired from some Kawaii nail art, even though the one I looked at were more decorated than mine and on all fingers, mine are just accents.
The polish is W7 - Metallic Venus, which I've showed before if you want to check out the polish without nail art. Just click the link.
I think that the rhinestones are 7MM which is the largest pearl rhinestones I've got. I glued them on with nail glue and they didn't come of.
The green beads are regular metal beads bought from ebay, of cause.
Most photos are taken indoors in different light settings.
I actually thought that it looked a bit Indian with the large pearl and the positions of the beads.

What do you think? Is the decoration too big for your taste? ;)

Recent purchases in blue
I went on some shopping yesterday and got home with some lovely polishes. Of some reason all of them are in a blue tone. Coincidence or am I feeling blue? School has really sucked out all energy from me and motivation is at the very bottom. Hopefully these polishes will cheer me up. ;)
Above I have three HM polishes but in two different lights. To clear everything out, the first one is white, the second one is light blue with some gorgeous shimmer which you can see on top and the third is a darker blue which is more bright than the photos show.
And two other blue polishes. The Isadora I bought for half the regular price.
Any of these you've tried and liked? Or any one of them you'd want me to try out.. like soon? :)
HM - In It For The Game, HM - Norwegian Sky, HM - Come Along With Me |

Random stamping nail art
Hi! Archive nails as you can see. Nothing special to see here more than some previous stamping attempts with random Konad image plates. Hope you're not getting too bored at least. :)
I was trying out different polishes and tried to see how different brands and opacities worked.
The thing I like best is my ring finger with the two colored sea horse. I should really get my stamping things out and try making a manicure with two colored objects, it looks cool. :)
Polish used for base:
China Glaze - White Out

Maybelline Colorama - Pow Green
Hi! It's Wednesday and I've timed in Green Wednesday which Karin from the Swedish blog Vacker&Underbar has started. Anyhow, the green polish I'm showing is Pow Green from Maybelline Colorama and bought from HM. And for some reason I needed a whole bunch of photos of it. :)
I really got a thing for green polishes going towards yellow. This one has some color in it making it look a bit dirty but I don't mind that. A girl in my school actually commented that yellow nails was too soon. Yellow? And whatever too soon? Nah, don't agree with any of her statements.
And when talking about the color, we recognize this, right? Amongst many possible dupe's, HM's own polish - I'm not a kiwi, seems like an exact match comparing bottles.
Then you might wonder if this is worth having in any way? I say no. I had to use 3 coats to make it cover and I would have needed one more to get rid of the some streaky spots, but of some reason it looks very opaque in the pictures.
And another reason why not getting this is the price. It cost the same as HM's polishes but it has 7ML instead of HM's polishes which have 9ML. And I happen to know that I'm not a kiwi covers in just two coats and has a great formula.
I had many complaints but I still like the color though.
Have any of you tried any of these "new" Maybelline bottles? Have the polishes been good?

My price from Honi's giveaway!
I don't think I've announced that I won Honi's giveaway for some weeks ago. (I'm so happy, thank you!) The price was a polish from Isadora called Pistacchio (try spelling that without looking at the picture ;)).
It's a minty pastel and I can't wait to try it out. It feels like a great spring polish even though I quite don't understand the name of it but things looking minty can't always be called mint I guess. But sure, if Isadora would be in need of a person who's coming up new polish names I would gladly except! I would be awesome with names being as creative as I am! haha :)
