Abstract nail art in red, blue and black

Yesterday I was too tired to schedule and today I've been busy until now. I was actually at an job interview during this morning, not to a job I actually want but hey, money is money and Christmas is coming.. Today I'll show you a brand new nail art, a NOTD and also what I wore to the interview. I wanted something classical (I decided to try the red Claudia I showed you yesterday; 607 as base) and with some tiny decoration which fell on Pretty&Polished and this is what I ended up with:
(And yea, the pictures are crappy and why you'll see at the bottom of this post...)

Polishes used:
Claudia - 607
Pretty and Polished - Boy Bleu
Jordana pop art - Black Mark

I adored the color combination with the classical red and the neon blue and black. I wasn't going to change my manicure until tomorrow at the earliest but during mid day I noticed that all nail polish was missing on my right index finger! When I got home I noticed that the nail polish seemed loose on all nails so I had to quickly photograph them in simple florescent lamp light, otherwise everything would be ruined, which is the reason why the color is a bit off to reality, the top picture is actually the most color accurate and I've already photographed 607 alone in correct light so you'll see that later. After I was done I was able to peel off all nail polish on all nails, mostly i large pieces. Normally nail polish sticks well to my nails so I hope it isn't Claudia's fault but I'll look into that (will try a new Claudia to night).

Is there any brand which make your nails peel or is it just coincidence? Any one who's tried Claudia and experienced this? And also, what did you think about the manicure? Too daring for a job interview?

  1. Huh? I've never seen that a polish peel off like this before O_O Weird haha
But I absolutely love your nail art! It's really classy with a bit pep. And I love that you did the ring finger differently, the design looks so cool. Sometimes simple lines can make such a huge difference!
How did the job interview went btw? Did they notice your nails :D

    1. Yes, it seems very weird! I've been thinking if it could be the base polish I used, it was old and on the thicker side..
And thanks for liking my nail art. I agree with you, simple lines and colors pops can make so much to a nail art! :D

Tack :D

    1. Thank you! :D I really liked wearing it and wouldn't have mind wearing it longer..lol :D
So weird with the peeling, but I've now concluded that it must be the base coat I used, it was old and had thicker formula.

  5. I really love that blue glitter! I've had polish peel off but it's usually the top coat that's the culprit. When I use a good base coat though I rarely have that issue. I'm curious to see what caused it!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I ADORE that glitter polish, using it as layering or detail as here can really make a manicure pop! Right now I have it in a glitter gradient and it's so awesome! :D

And yes, you're on to it. I've realized that I didn't use my regular base polish but an old one with a thicker formula and that probably made the trick. I'll use it more times, like with glitter and then removal will be easier I guess.. Now when I know it would work as a peel of polish.. lol :D

  6. I love that color combination!

My glitter usually peels off like that if I'm using a fast drying top coat as a base coat (which I'm usually using for my glitters :) ). Sometimes I'm using hand creme too before I start painting my nails just to make it easier for me to peel off the polish day 2.

    1. Thank you! I adore the color combination too. The neon blue combined with the classical red and black is such a nice combination.

I've now realized that I didn't use my regular base polish and used an old thick one and I highly suspect that this is the reason for the peel off. I'll use that base polish next time I'll use a glitter polish now when I "know" about the "problem" and can turn it to my advantage! :D

  7. maybe you should use a better base-coat? 8-0

anyway. I like this nail-art! makes me think of David Bowie... this kinda flash art =)

    1. YES! You are spot on! I've realized that I used another base polish than usal; an old one with a thick formula! In the future I'll only use that one to glitter polishes and not to regular manicures.

And thank you :D I didn't see the David Bowie/flash art connection until you said it! :D

  9. These look beautiful! I love the blue glitter combined with the vivid red polish, very classy :) I had polish peel off like that once but I never figured out why... I continued using the same base coat/brands of polish and it hasn't happened again!
