Failed tape manis..

Hi!
To day I'll show you two polishes and two failed tape nail arts.. Seriously, I can't do tape manicures, my nails are too curved to all directions.

I've used China Glaze - Def-defying (green) and China Glaze - Hanging in the balance (blue). Here I have two coats for both o them, but in the future I'd use 3 coats for Def-defying. I really like the color of Def-defying, can't get enough of that nuance. The blue of Hanging in balance is not what I thought it was, I think I have at least 3 similar if not dupes of it already and I didn't need one more.

To the tape nail art:
I wanted to make a slim triangle, with the point heading to my cuticles. The slimness was to avoid my curved nails a bit at least, but when I tried making my triangles, the base of the triangles was forced together by the curve so I caved in and did this shape below.

The shapes didn't come out sharp so I decided to make something else on my other hand, just trying out the technique. This came out even worse. The reason to make tape nail art is for the sharp lines, and I could have done this on freehand and much better.
With flash, so the blue color is too bright and purple.
Tape and I just seem to oil and water. Not combinable. Well, except when I did them in this direction.

For tomorrow I have another nail art (which I actually like better) with these two polishes together again.

    1. Yes, you're right, practice can't make it worse at least! :D I'll try to make them from the other direction next time and build up some confidence! ;P

    1. Yea, one have to try at least! :) I'm not giving up on the tape. I love the green one a lot, that green shade is awesome! However even though I liked the blue one I don't think I reeeaaally needed it ;) haha

  3. I've never tried tape manicures, though I have 12 different colours tape from born pretty since ages. But I'm not sure how to use it... I like the colour combo and I have not clue why this didn't work for you.

    1. You should try and then tell me what I'm doing wrong! haha ;) Seriously I think that my nails are very curved and that I haven't placed the tape good enough and that the polish slips in under the tape making it look bad. But I'll practice on it. I'm not giving up yet any how. ;) Btw, I've used regulary painters tape and not striping tape. :) But that shouldn't matter though I've heard.
